Music problem on PC version

Hey all. I know there are problems with playing FF8 on XP, but I've managed to fix the graphical issues. All that remains is a problem with the music. It consistently plays at about half of the speed it should whether it be on the battlefield, world map, movie, etc. It's not choppy at all, just lethargic I guess. I have a sigmatel audio sound card. I tried switching it to the microsoft synthesizer but played on that the music becomes slower and choppy. Not really sure what the problem is or how to address it. Attached is my dxdiag. Not realy sure what the problems is but try geting the music patch for ff8 and install that to make it better hopefully that will work. If i find it ill post it here.
