Is it true that Susan Boyle had a Mental Crash after Britain got Talent was over ?

Don't know was either imagining things while watching the news or it really occurred.

Should really pay attention to things, but it never happens.

I just heard about this, my mum told me, apparently she said the show was shite, threw water over someone and is now in a clinic, because she was like, so upset after the show or something

AMG its on the news NOW :gasp:

Too much pressure or something, I mean look at that kid that started crying, think she was abit young for all that pressure, and apparently, susan couldnt hack it either, unless she's like, a drunk or something?

And uh, I'l move this over to...TSF

Insta-celebrity is a lot to take psychologically. You really have to be built to take all that attention. And I think it's even worse in England since it's such a small island and everybody's so close. In the US, we've got a smidge more land, so you can go and hide a little bit easier if you're so inclined. Not that our celebs don't have their share of *finger quotes* breakdowns and *finger quotes* hospital visits and *finger quotes* cocaine binges.

She lived in obscurity for... what.... 47 years? And overnight I know who she is? That's a bit of a gear shift.

Also, I believe HeadlineNews is doing a piece on her tonight at 11pm EDT entitled "Susan Boyle's Breakdown." Which I find ironic. And it's yet another reason that 24-hour news channels are completely unnecessary.

It's like when a kid grows up poor but plays a sport, then becomes a superstar in that sport. All of a sudden, a kid that never had any money or assets is now wealthy and has a lot of popularity. History has showed us that these kids had some major problems after their new found wealth. A big reason most sports won't draft out of high school and require some college, so their mind can mature and they can cope with fame better than a kid out of high school. Usually these issues that these people suffer are depression related. This comes from the fact that they now think they can buy happiness and once they realize they have everything they ever dreamed of, they're still feeling empty and unhappy. This depression leads to things like mental breakdowns, drug use and suicide.

Anyways, I'm going way off topic about Susan Boyle. Truth be told I don't pay much attention to the news and don't know anything about Britain's Got Talent or Susan herself so I can't analyze what exactly her deal is. Going by what CC says, if she is indeed 47 years old and spent most of her life secluded, then this new found fame would be difficult to deal with. Even mature minds may still have problems coping with this when they're slightly weak.
