I love finding stuff in games I didn't notice on the first few play-throughs.
So I wanna share some of them, in hopes they'll be interesting to at least a few people. "And then again," as Maechen would say, "maybe not. Who knows?"
Obviously, a lot of players will have found these. But some are pretty obscure, and many players won't!
Obscure Little Things #1: Lulu's Mentor
Remember Lady Ginnem? There's a couple scenes about her on the Farplane:
1. If you backtrack to Guadosalam before visiting the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, you see Lulu looking for Lady Ginnem (although she doesn't admit that's what she's doing).
2. If you go to the Farplane after Yuna sends Ginnem, you see Lulu confiding in Ginnem as she doesn't seem to confide in anyone else. It's only one line, but very revealing: I get the impression that Lulu looked up to her first Summoner the way Yuna looks up to Lulu.
Obscure Little Things #2: Yuna's Stalker
Wait, who was this guy again, and why did Tidus ask him about running around?
That's because he was stalking Yuna starting all the way back in Kilika. Again and again he appears -- on the ferry, in Luca, in the Thunder Plains -- taking snapshots of Yuna. What possessed O'aka's little brother to become paparazzi? He seems like a nice enough chap!
-- If you go back to the Farplane just after leaving Guadosalam, you find Wantz there talking to one of the images of the dead -- his older sister. He tells his older sister about Yuna, says, "She looks a lot like you, sis," shows her the pictures, and reveals that his sister was a summoner who died on pilgrimage.
-- If you go back to Luca AFTER getting things sorted out with Lord Mika near the game's end, you find that O'aka has been released. For once, the guy actually gives some straight talk:
Obscure Little Things #3: Things to See on the Ferries
If you wander around on the SS Liki, you'll catch glimpses of dolphins playing around the ferry. Also, while Kimahri doesn't say anything, if you hit "X" enough times, Tidus pesters him enough to get shoved. (And then stamps his foot like a weenie. Dumb, Tidus.)
When you first embark on the SS Winno, the second ferry, the Luca Goers and Aurochs are both down in the hold. One of the Goers warns you that the women on his team are up to something. Keepa seems nervous. If you go back down after Bickson and Graav make fun of Tidus in front of Yuna, you'll find that Keepa's been abducted by the ladies. He's squeaking "help!" from somewhere in the back behind a curtain. Botta (ever helpful) is worried about what they're doing to him, but half wishing they'd kidnapped him instead.
Obscure Little Things #4: How to Piss Off Auron -- an Infinite Loop!
After killing Maester Seymour, Auron shouts "Run!" and everyone runs outside the temple. Once you step onto the icy path, a whole swarm of Guado chase you. But before that, there's a save sphere plus the ever-helpful O'aka with a sack full of potions to sell.
If you turn around and try to re-enter the temple at that point, Auron comes charging back and yells at Tidus. "Where are you going?" or "Hey! Hurry up!" or various other quotes. Then he runs away, and O'aka waves at him.
Every time you try to re-enter the temple, Auron comes back and yells at Tidus again.
I imagine him getting increasingly irritated, but I still haven't found the version where he loses his temper and beheads the boy.

Obscure Little Things #2: Yuna's Stalker

(Halfway up Mt. Gagazet, a guy with an Aussie accent appears):
Wantz: Greetings, Lady Yuna. My name is Wantz.
Yuna: We have met several times before, right?
Tidus: Not running today?
Wantz: I have to carry on my brother's business. You've met him, I think. O'aka XXIII, merchant extraordinaire?
Tidus: Wait, you're that guy's brother?
Wantz: Mm. (Nods) My brother wanted to come help Lady Yuna. But the temple imprisoned him for helping traitors.
Tidus: They imprisoned him because of us?
Watnz: He doesn't regret it, though. In fact, he told me before they took him... "Don't worry about me, just go help Lady Yuna."
Yuna: But, why would your brother do this for us?
Wait, who was this guy again, and why did Tidus ask him about running around?

O'aka: Hello, there!
Tidus: Hey, weren't you in prison?
O'aka: Nah, those monks are pushovers, I tell ye! I'll fleece any priest, or my name's not O'aka!
Tidus: Sorry. It was our fault they locked you up.
O'aka: No problem! Anything for a customer, eh?
O'aka: You know...I had a sister. Wantz's older sister, you see. A summoner, she was. Went on pilgrimage at a young age. And that was it. Aaah... Me and Wantz, well, neither of us were fighters enough to be guardians. I think about it every day, I do. If we could've helped her. Least I can do is try to help another summoner, I figure. And Lady Yuna, she looks so much like... (Sigh)
Tidus: Eh?
O'aka: I-It's nothing.
Tidus: Say, thanks.
