Welcome to Luca. This forum has been created in order for members to share their talents with us, such as drawings, pieces of writing, pictures, AMV's and such like. Below, a small list of guidelines will be given in order to give members a simple walk-through on what is and is not allowed.
Plagiarism
This topic will be covered first and foremost.
Criticising
The Critic
It's all fine and good to tell someone how to improve on their work, but downright flaming is strictly prohibited. People don't appreciate being told "your work sucks" or something to that effect. If you feel it necessary to criticise someone's work, please be mindful of that person. Tell them how hey can improve, what was good, what was not, why they should do this. Compliments always go a long way.
The Criticised
You are completely entitled to give a reply to criticism. No one likes, very much, to be criticised. However, please do not become snappy, or flame back at the critic. As usual, post in a mature fashion, keeping in mind the forum rules. Also, try not to be too sensitive - some people do genuinly want to help you.
Artwork should be posted in Artist Cafe
Writing should be posted in Writers Boulevard
Dress-up Pictures should be posted in Cosplay Corner
Anything else should be posted in Miscellaneous
Normal forum rules still apply, unless stated otherwise elsewhere.
Adult Content
Art/Fan-art/Amv/misc
If your artwork/amv/stationary has adult content in it (certain parts of the human anatomy, pornographic scenes, etc...) then do not post the piece of art itself, but a link to it, with a proper warning. The tag '[Adult]' would be a good tag to use.
Fanfics/Original Stories
If you are writing a fanfic or original story, you don't have to link to an outside source, but an '[Adult]' tag would still be needed.
Here are some things you can not post regardless though:
- Child pornography
- 'scat' play
- Anything involving 'rape' or sexual abuse, that is too in depth, or depicts it in a positive way. (why would someone do that anyway?
)
-----------
Finally, if you have many drawings that you wish to share, try to keep them all to one thread. A good example of this would be Some of my FF Drawings by LadyAerith. The same applies to pictures and such like.
If anyone has any questions regarding the above guidelines, do not hesitate to contact any member of staff.
We look forward to seeing your excellent work.
Plagiarism
This topic will be covered first and foremost.
Basically, Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and portraying it as your own. For example, taking a piece of writing you may have copied and pasted from a site, then posting it here, would be considered plagiarism. Not only is this disrespectful, it is against the rules. Staff members can and will issue appropriate warnings, if you are caught doing this.Wikipedia said:Plagiarism is the practice of "dishonestly" claiming or implying original authorship of material which one has not actually created, such as when a person incorporates material from someone else's work into their own work without attributing it.
