Is FFXII like the old ones in wich the fact that you train later in the game it's better?
Like, in FFVII, that the sooner (level) you give sources the stats will grow higher.
FFVI, if you have the Espers at low levels when you gain a level it's be better,
Or like in FFIX, that if you equip the Orichalcon to Zidane 'til 99 he'll have a greter speed...
Is FFXII like this?

I don't get exactly what you mean....
What do you mean by the 'sources' in FFVII? o_O

The only thing I do know is that it's much easier to train in this game than any other Final Fantasy I've ever played for some reason. It's much easier in the beginning then, though I doubt that answer the whole question entirely.

I think you can just train whenever you want, since stat gain is based on the equipment you have theres no way you can equip something early on that'll make you more powerful later.

Okay, first off...what? o_O Do you mean materia?

Second, as AG said, your stats depend on equipment. Also, there's a few licenses that will raise your agility, strength, and magic, but those barely do anything.

Third, you need to constantly be leveling throughout the game. Actually you should be doing that in every FF.

Yep, it doesn't really matter when you level. I can't remember there being any items or accessories that increase stats when you level up so there aren't any benefits to keeping low levels like in previous FFs.

Yep, all keeping low levels in XII will do is make it that much easier for bosses to hand your ass to you on a silver platter.

i leveled up throughout the game in order to get strong enough to beat the bosses you have to face. it worked out fine for me as i was able to beat all of the hardest marks and whatnot. i'd say you can probably level up anytime you want to.

I do hunts in between dungeons, gaining some exp while I'm at it. That way, I won't feel left in the dark while I'm progressing through the story. I also find that gaining levels is incredibly slow here compared with the other titles even with an accessory that can yield double exp for the wearer, which is further reason why level-grinding in this game is the way to go.

I thought the sources merely just increase their corresponding stats by 1 just like in VIII. Or is there a multiplier effect that takes place whenever you level up?

Either way, they're hard to come by in the early stages of the game.

So, are you asking how do you increase stats or are you asking for adivce on how to do it? I am kinda confused myself, actually. =/.

In XII I did train quite alot to get my level up, but I hated the fact it didn't increase my status only the armour did. -____-.

FINALLY! Someone else besides me who's pointed that gigantic flaw out!

It's a bitch. Armour should HELP increase stats, not MAKE the stats, and should defend/absorb against elements too. It's nearly impossible to survive if you dont keep buying the newest armours/headgears.
