...Why can't I kill these bastards? They must have like 100 HP! It wouldn't be so bad, but they flee from battle almost immediately. I keep trying to get lucky with a critical hit via the Hero's Thunder Thrust technique, but it never works. Those damn slimes keep running. I wouldn't be so set on killing 'em, but they give a whopping 30,000 or so experience when defeated. Liquid Metal Slimes are tricky, too.

Does anyone have any tips for killing these dudes? I wonder if there's possibly a technique that prevents the enemy from fleeing...

I think it all amounts to how lucky you get. And I'm not talking about your luck stat. I'm talking about whether or not the slime wants to flee. All metal slimes like to flee once they get hit for any damage.:panic:

My best guess would be to try and use a confusion spell on the slime. Don't know if it will work or not, but that would be the only thing I can think of that would keep them from running all the time.

I think they're immune to all spells. At least that's what this one FAQ I read says.

I was trying for the longest time to put 'em to sleep or paralyze them with Yangus' Warcry technique.

I hate these things. xD

They don't have much Hp at all 20 I think:wacky: Elusive little bastards they are tho & they like to escape alot <_<

You need to speed your arse up and try to go for the armour peircing shizz & hope it lands :wacky:

20 HP is still a crap load. o_O

I equipped Jessica with a Liquid Metal Sword, so I can at least do 2 HP worth of damage with her.

I have the Hero equipped with a Falcon Blade, which is good for 2-4 HP worth of damage if I use Metal Slash.

Angelo just uses Metal Slash. 1-2 point of damage with that one.

...and Yangus just uses his regular attack. If I'm lucky, I might get a single point of damage from him. Doesn't happen often, though.

So...that means I can expect to do around 5-9 points of damage each turn. If I did max damage each turn (I have a better chance of winning the lottery), I could beat the King Metal Slime in 3 turns. I'll probably end up needing 4 turns, though. No way that thing is gonna stick around for 4 turns.

I guess I could give the Liquid Metal Sword to Angelo and let Jessica cast Accelerate...

Accelerate is a must I think, also, if yangus is missing, try that special he has can't remember the nme of it, doesn't hit often but when it does *bam* that's killed me afew metal slimes before now

Hey, you're Bambi again! Anywho, I think I know which move you're talking about. Grimmer Reaper or something?

I haven't thought of trying that one out yet. At least it'd give me the chance of killing 'em with one hit...if that affects metal slimes, that is.

Back to Bam :neomon:

It does, it attacks irrespectiveof defence so if you land one it's instant-dead-slime

Hatchet man or Executioner I think, I ha to check because it was bugging me

Ohhhhhhhh, got'cha. I was gonna say...there's NO way Grimmer Reaper attacks irrespective of defense.

I chose to focus on Scythe instead of Axe, so I may need to up my Axe skill before I can use Hatchet Man. I forgot about that one. It'd make Yangus useful. Thanks. :D

Accompanied with my Thunder Thrust, I may get a few lucky shots in.

Yeah, on Metal hunting I mostly used Angelo w/Falcon Blade & Metal Slash...Hero w/the same...Jessica w/Liquid Metal Sword, I think...and Yangus I gave w/e hammer...some crazy looking one...I just had him use that attack that hits everything in a group in hopes for hitting one of them once or something...though it's best for groups of Metal Slimes...if I was actually up against King Metal Slimes I'd have him use w/e instant death attack he had...I may have given the Liquid Metal Sword to one of the guys actually and had Jessica w/that whip that allows two strikes & used that double strike whip ability of hers?? Man, it's been TOO long...I need to replay...

Yeah, It's pain in the ass to kill one, I remember I only kill 2 or 3 of the Kings, but they really worth it, I mean you get a lot of EXP since the leveling up is getting seriously hard in the end of the game.

Well, yeah, you gotta go to that inaccessible hill area that you need to fly to...I like to call it Metal Monster Mountain. Metal monsters aren't the ONLY thing there, but there's tons of Metal Slimes at least...and the others appear at less frequent encounter rates, of course...but I like it better than trying to get just King Metal Slimes in that underground dragon place in that desert (aren't my names for things awesome?)...

I'd love to get a second Falcon Blade, but I about pulled all my hair out trying to get enough tokens at the Baccarat casino to purchase only one.

I've managed to kill a few King Metal Slimes by using the Hero's spear ability, Thunder Thrust. It has a 50% chance of dealing damage. In the event that it does do damage, you have a 50% chance of doing critical damage (more than enough to take the King Metal Slime out in one hit). Once I get Yangus' Hatchet Man, I'll be in business.

Attaching the Meteorite Bracer (whatever it's called) to the Hero to get an agility boost helps a bit.

I don't recall problems w/the casino...isn't there one machine that has really good odds? Just build up enough & bet a whole bunch at once & if you get fux0red, reload...it shouldn't be that big of a deal...I forget how I got two...I'm pretty sure it was one of those item thingies? I think by getting it you have to basically give up on making some other uber-item, but it's just another powerful sword and I was pretty meh about it...

There's some guy standing in front of a slot machine at the casino. Supposedly, if you pay him to let you use that particular slot machine, you get better odds...but I couldn't win shit on that stupid machine.

I gave up and went to the roulette table. Took forever since you can only increase your coin total by a maximum of 500 coins (if you're lucky enough to win), but it got the job done.

I loved Roulette :wacky:

I actually made a stinking fortune on it, the trick as said before is to saaaaaave all the time. Spread your shite out across the table I think you end up with 1 - 3 odds or something and altho you don't get too much you are far more likely to make a profit

Id also just pick a number and keep at it reloading until said number came in and Id be like yay Im so rich :wacky:

It'd be soooo much easier if you could save without having to carry your ass all the way to the church. xD

Save, run to the casino, run to the church, talk the priest (the guy won't shut up), save or reload, run back to the casino, and repeat.

Takes forevers! I should have played the roulette at 1 - 3 odds instead of 1 - 2. It would've gone quicker probably.
