XBox Kinect

Anyone else looking forward to it? I know it seems like an overglorified eye toy and pretty much just a gimmick but I think within the next few years of gaming it could be pretty enjoyable.

I haven't overly looked into it, but there are already a few things that annoy me. For example, the voice recognition. I assume you have to do this yourself because of the many different cultures who are actually on Xbox? At least, I hope to God they do it themselves because I know that thing just simply would not understand my accent otherwise.

I think until they make it compatable with a few half-decent games such as Forza 4 and perhaps a Call of Duty is when it will really start picking up users. Though I admit I do fancy playing all the stupid dancing games and what not too. Though it just feels like it's going backwards a little bit too seeing as we have been playing things like that for years beforehand. I look forward to it, but I donät think I am willing to pay the pricetag for these shit games where you play with tigers and what not. I think I might end up waiting until they really do something with it. That being said, it does look fun, and who didn't have fun with the eyetoy?

I dont know if Im going to bother. The games shown at E3 for it didnt wow me or make me wanna rush to get a copy. Just reminds me too much of the Wii and its not really motivated me. I may get 1 after the hypes calmed down and they get cheaper.

To me it all depends on how they make it work with actual games. All the mini game stuff I have no interest in (got my Wii for that) but if they can use it in a proper way and really add an extra dimension to games like Fable 3 then I might give it a go. So I remain cautiously optimistic, but not overtly enthused.

I do think it looks better than Sony's Wii mote rip off though

Along with Sony's, Playstation Move I can see it being woeful. They've already try to cover up whatever problems they had at E3 by pre-recording it to show the demonstration...either that or they had horrendous lag. It's an interesting idea, I'll hand that to Microsoft but personally, I don't feel as if they're going to use it to its full potential.

I've been reading a bit about Capcom's Steel Batallion: Heavy Armor recently and it makes me much more hopeful about what Kinect has to offer. A real hardcore title developed exclusively with Kinect in mind. A few more titles like that and I may seriously start to consider getting one!

The games of Kinect so far do not interest me at all. They sound like the boring old type that the Wii had to offer. It is essentially the same exact thing but just using you as the controller. Dance Central seems to be a very popular one though Call of Duty played on Kinect looks stupid and Halo is even worse. It is pretty hard to use the Melee and even the gun I saw a video of Kinect on Halo Reach. It was horrible..
