-I've been thinking about some more animes to watch and I was wondering if I should focus more towards some of the good older animes or some of the animes that are just coming out?

-Did the Inuyasha anime make it further in Japan than in the US? and if so, by how many episodes?

-I was thinking about buying the Negima manga. Is it good in your opinion?

thanks

-personally i'd go for the older ones of which you heard good feedback(see Naruto, FFU, inuyasha(sp?) etc.)

with the newer ones you can never know and you might waste a lot of time downloading them or money if you buy them..

- i don't know

-i don't know

Supposedly there's already a new season of Inuyasha out in Japan and it just hasn't been translated yet.

There are some great old animes and newer ones. It best to focus on the older stuff, and don't jump too soon on the newer anime. There are many great old animes such as Ninja scroll, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and etc...

Newer animes....Death Note is very popular in Japan now. Naruto is also great, but make sure you skip over the fillers.

I wander if I can find the subs somewhere around the net. Do you know?

yeah, I know what you mean...

I guess I will watch some of the older animes, since i know there have been lots of good ones. I'm still watching Death Note (on ep. 10) and Naruto Shippuuden (watching the new episode each week. And I know what you mean about the fillers, cuz I watched ALL of them... )

-thanks for replying.

Filler episodes aren't that bad, but OMG... I hate filler story arcs. Naruto and Bleach were terrible at that and I've stopped watching them for said reasons.

I'd say go for the ones you've been meaning to watch. Everyone usually has a list of stuff they missed. Like, I still need to watch Wolf's Rain and Last Exile, but I haven't got to it yet.

I wouldn't go for an anime that is still running cause then you'll marathon through most of it and get stuck waiting every week after that.

Dont know Inuyasha (not my type) and dont even know what Negima is

Naruto Shippuuden is going slow....it's going to be like Dragon Ball z now were characters stare at each other for a whole episode! Fillers were horrible though, it's just basically: "Hey this Mayor of an unimportant town wants me to go out and find this unimportant rock and bring it back to town! Oh boy!"

Actually, Death note is finishing up now so no worries.

Oh and another old, classic, anime movie I recommend is Akria, but most people have seen it. Q_Q Anything done by Hayao Miyazaki is great.

I like alot of the older ones. There is a newer one called "Desert Punk" it's funny, but it's "adult" . I doubt they will show it on adult swim though.

Yea, I think if you're really looking for recommendations from us, it'd be best to right down what you typically watch.

Addleboy, I have noooo clue. I've had people mention some sites where you could possibly download the new episodes, but I'm not a big fan of reading subtitles, so I didn't save the links.

I just set my Tivo to record some upcoming episodes of Bleach and Naruto.
I have no idea what either of them are, so I hope they're good. =]

I only like the first season of Digimon. I couldn't get into the rest.
I have to see it from the very beginning or else I won't be drawn in.
And I favor the first season a loooot. ^__^

Can someone give me a quick rundown of what Bleach and Naruto are before I watch them tonight?

I liked the first season of Digimon as well. Aw man, it got so bad afterwards.

I don't know much about Bleach.

Naruto - Naruto (Main character) is a Ninja kid who has been made fun of his whole life become elite during the show. He has a demon fox inside of him which makes him very powerful.

Sasuke - Emo, whinny kid, I don't like very much....but he is in the same group as Naruto. He also has a strong grudge against his older brother. (You'll see why around episode 129-131...I think)

Sakura - Your weak, angry, anime girl in the beginning. She becomes a lot more awesome later on in the series, and actually fights back. :O

Kakashi - Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura's teacher.

I don't want to spoil much.

That's news to me and I'm an avid follower of Inuyasha, including up to date on the manga...
Where did you hear this alleged news?

There's a lot of great old ones....namely Akira, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell (not the series, but the actual movie), Serial Experiments Lain, and stuff like that.

I honostly can't think of any newer anime I would be interested in, unless you consider Ergo Proxy new, because thats a good one.

I also hear Elfen Lied is really good, but I have yet to check it out myself.

Naruto was good until Sasuke left, then it went down the crapper.

Bleach is awesome. I'm sure at some point it will be put on Toonami or whatever and be ruined though. Watch it online. http://www.bleachportal.net/

And these are the best anime series ever:

Outlaw Star: 10 bajillion times better than the overrated Cowboy Bebop
Betterman: psychological horror, it's a real mindfuck
Gundam Wing: awesome characters, awesome story, awesome mobile suits, it's the best Gundam series
Rurouni Kenshin: read the manga, the story is fantastic, it's 28 volumes and i actually read every one, it's that good

There are some old animes that are really good, I recommend Rurouni Kenshin and for the new ones, try watching Claymore. I haven't watched it yet but my friends say its really good. Hellsing and Trinity Blood are great too and so as Beck (if you like music or bands).

Filler episodes aren't that bad, but OMG... I hate filler story arcs. Naruto and Bleach were terrible at that and I've stopped watching them for said reasons.

Same here. Bleach are still airing fillers, right?

Eh, depends on what you want really.

But what I generally go for are the newer ones that deviate a little more from the typical, as my biggest issue with anime is its evolution from group style into stylistic machine (I'm gonna stop here, before I start ranting).

I've always been partial to demon-hunter type plots, as well as steam punk, so D.Gray-man is definitely one of my faves. Personally, I think the manga was better, although definitely more raw and less structured.

If you're knowledgeable about the shoujo side (including the moe aspects of it), then Ouran High School Host Club is pretty freakin' hilarious. It's still a shoujo anime at heart, but the fact it mocks its own genre makes it a little unique and unpretentious.

Of course, there are also the staples of anime that shaped its culture: Evangelion, Rurouni Kenshin, etc.

FLCL is one of my faves because, while it does get into the whole epic aspect that current anime seems to always have to get to, it's utterly unique and definitely a creative risk. Plus, I love the South Park cameos.

None of these suggestions are very obscure, so it's likely you've seen or at least heard about them, so sorry in advance if I was no help.
