Cutting a long story short, I have a new hard drive and had to completely scrap my iTunes library. I still have all of my songs on my iPod and, apparently, it's possible to transfer the songs from your iPod to iTunes.

Now, I can only see the option, which reads "transfer purchases from your iPod", which has done nothing ... probably because I've bought nothing from iTunes - it's all uploaded via disc, file transfers or downloads :wacky:

My question: how do I, if at all possible, transfer my songs from my iPod to iTunes?

Note: I've been into My Computer > Removable Disc E and searched the iPod contents [so that I could just drag them over] but there are no songs in the contents. <_<

There are many ways of doing this. It can be as simple as using the search feature whilst making sure you're searching hidden folders also because that's where the songs are: in hidden folders. Coincidentally, I'm having to do this right now and Mark gave ame a link to a solution that he said he's used many times but I couldn't make any sense of it. :P

I've done this before, it's pretty easy. If I remember correctly.

Make it that you can see hidden files and folders. Then, go to My Computer and click where ever your iPod is.

iPod_Control is hidden, click that. Now go to Music. All of your songs are in strangely named folders, and your media files are scrambled into unintelligent 4 letter jumbles. Don't mind that now; just copy the Music folder onto your desktop.

When it's done copying, unhide it via Properties. What you do now is just add all the folders to your library. (which sucks if you got a lot) And there, *most* of the songs are unscrambled, some of them might still have that four letter title.

The only problem I see is that the copying takes up some space. D:
