Inuyasha question

In a few Inuyasha episodes, Inuyasha has a flashback of him in a village as a child with his mother Izayoi. The Robe of the Fire Rat was the last thing his mother gave to him as a child before she died, and in the flashbacks, Inuyasha is wearing it when he's a child. How does the robe still fit him so snugly when he's much older/bigger?

I had the same question... I was wondering that myself! O.O So mysterious! But he could have added on to it as he grew, right? Maybe? That's the only good answer I can come up with... ^ ^;;

Maybe it was big to begin with, and as he grew older it started to fit him better. Not quite sure though, any guess is as good as mine.

hmmm...... good question... I had never thought about that before. It did belong to Inu no Taisho and he gave it to Izayoi, so it may be his size and it was majorly hitched up for Inuyasha as a child?

It was the same with Sango, and kohaku's flashbacks I think. I'll just say that it's one of those cartoon things where a younger version of a character is merely a shrunken version of they're adult counterpart.

Quite honestly, I think it was just laziness on the creator's part. They kept the characters in their same clothing instead of changing it, but if you want to get technical, he probably just tied the fire rat haori to fit his body more snugly and loosened it as he grew. Some haori's and kimonos are made that way, you can loosen them or tighten them to better fit you, depending on the style.
