How to change your Username

Note that:

• You are allowed to have only ONE account.
• If you have a warning, your username will not be changed unless there is a symbol in it.
• Do not create a new account with the intention of having a different username.
• Only a moderator or forum staff will be able to change your username. Do not ask them about this.
• Name changes will only be considered through PMs. E-mails or instant messages will be disregarded.
• Existing members will not have their accounts removed or changed so that you can take their usernames. Please be sure that the username you want to have changed to is not the same as any existing member's.
• If you change your username too often, your request may be denied.
• Your username is irrelevant to either the reputation or your warning on this site.
• Your post count does not affect eligibility for a name change.

Normally, you can change your username yourself by buying it from the FFF Store* and choosing "Change Username".

If you accidentally typed the wrong username and made a mistake, you can have your username changed by contacting an administrator. Generally, there must be a good reason for this. You should not ask an administrator to change your username if you say "you're bored" or something similar.

Some valid reasons for changing a username are:

• You spelt your username incorrectly when registering.
• Your username is more similar to someone else's username than the one you intended.
• You want to remove additional symbols because you find typing them to be a hassle.

Be sure to choose a username that you will be comfortable with, since it identifies who you are on the forums. We do not hold any responsibility for other people taking your old username. Please keep this in mind. If you decide to change your username back, and someone else takes it, you will simply have to wait until he/she changes it.

You request to have a username change may be denied if you ask for one soon after you just had one.

How to send a PM for a username change:

• Type "Name Change: <> | <>" in the subject line of your PM.
• Check to make sure that the username you want isn't already taken by clicking here.
• An administrator may take up to 48 hours in responding and acting on your request. Please have patience and refrain from reminding them until after those initial 48 hours.
• TM and | symbols will not be allowed for a name change.
• You will receive an e-mail if you receive a name change.

Please do not create a thread asking about how to change your username in the Help Desk forum. They will be deleted.
