I'm not sure if this topic is floating around, sorry if the question has already been asked but for those of you that are aware of Dead Fantasy I was wondering what your thoughts on it were. For those whom don't know Dead Fantasy is a series created by Monty Oum where it has the Dead or Alive crew facing the Final Fantasy Crew. Recently DF 3/5 (both related, Tifa vs. Hitomi and Hayate) and 4 which has Yuna facing Kasumi.

I know that I really enjoyed The first two installments of DF but I thought Tifa's battle is getting a bit insane/ridiculous. I love how the series now has a story behind it but I didn't like the fact that Tifa was owned quite badly and still was able to fight, it was awesome to see but it just seemed a bit OTT.

Also, what do you think of the connection with Yuna/Tifa + Cloud? If you saw, it was going on about 'trusting her' and if I recall correctly Tifa asks Cloud to trust her before she falls off the cliff. Despite this showing in the fifth installment keep in mind that it was still connected to the third one seeing as Tifa's battle seems to take place before Yunas. So if Cloud trusts Tifa, why does he go to Yuna's rescue? (and Cloud seriously looked like a girl but I'm not complaning, Monty Oum is amazing in his own way ^^)

Its actually kinda cool.It has made me see final fantasy girls like yuna in a new light.It was cool seeing them duke it out with the dead or alive girls.There were some times where foolishness happened(like kairi coming out of thin air) but otherwise it wasnt that bad.it does seem mismatched
 
It makes me wonder why they don't just come out with a fighting version of Final Fantasy characters in the first place AGES AGO when it should have happened. Anyone remember Ehrgeiz? That was one crazy ass fighting game with FF characters that SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED INTO EVERY AWESOME FIGHTING FRANCHISE EVER. /endrant

Ehrgeiz? I heard about that game.. sadly I myself haven't played it only heard about it. A friend told me about the game the other day and I thought that it never released here in New Zealand so I didn't think that I could play it, it seems I was wrong however, and the game sold out so quickly that it was no wonder that I thought the way I did. I really do wish I could get my hands on it though, it sounds like such a great concept. Having played Dissidia myself, I would like to see what kind of game Ehrgeiz is in comparison =]

But you're right in seeing the FF girls in a new light, ESPECIALLY Yuna. I liked her in X but not so much in X-2. I was also a big Aerith lover (hated Tifa.. you know how it is..) but after that and then working to understand Tifa I now love them both. =] Kairi is also a new female who gained my respect though that was a little random when she appeared. I'm curious as to whom she will fight though seeing as the artwork that Monty done for her has a shadow of her behind herself, so I'm guessing she might face a nobody/heartless of herself?
 
Dead Fantasy is pretty cool. I saw some parts of it on youtube, and I personally think it would make a great fighting game. I mean, FF meets DOA is just plain epic in my book. Not too sure about Yuna & Kairi being able to do all those stunts, but it's still a huge positive. Reminds me a bit of Mortal Kombat. Dude who made DF (Monty Oum) was a genius. Gotta admit though, part 5 was a bit painful for me to watch (I'm a major Tifa fan)...............
 
I understand how you feel, it was kind of OTT as well if you ask me but at the same time I felt so sorry for Tifa. However I do think that it would make an awesome game, I have to say I found new respect for Kairi though because she's so often depicted as the damsel in distress so for her to get the keyblades and actually kick ass for once was awesome to see. However, it doesn't make logical sense seeing as Kairi is the innocent one and also a princess of heart so she has no reason to be so aggresive, then again.. her 'friends' were in trouble.

I think I get what you're saying. I am glad Kairi gets to be more independent, since Sora isn't there to save her ass but to see her transforming into valor form out of nowhere was like.....random (insanely cool, but random). Kairi was portrayed as rather aggressive, seeing as how nice she was in KH. It really was a bit OOC. Maybe it has to do with the plot?

Monty Oum is awesome, and it's cool that he came up with this stuff, but a few of the FF characters seemed a little overpowered (Rinoa...). Also, how she ended up wielding a gunblade is beyond me. I say he's doing a great job though. Makes me wanna know what character he's going to introduce next. 'Course, someone really needs to jump in and revive Tifa.

I'm a really big Tifa fan, although what you say about her battle getting insane and ridiculous, I gotta agree. But I was literally sitting on the edge of my chair. Literally. Squealing and all. :wacky: I think Monty Oum just made that battle so intense. Intense is really the only word I can give it. I think it's perfect. It might seem OTT, and unrealistic. But, after all it IS Final Fantasy where they jump from the ground up into the sky and just hang there and fight. :wacky:

I dunno, I LIKED that that battle was so fucking insane. I'm not a big Final Fantasy 10, fan, but with Tifa's appearance, I gotta say that's also mainly the reason why I LOVE Dead Fantasy. I'm only on it for Final Fantasy's side. I don't care for Dead or Alive at all.

On YouTube I saw all these pissed off people cause of the preview where Tifa was owning after being hurt so badly, and the Dead or Alive people were so offended 'cause it was an FF character doing that. I just squealed and had my Tifa fan in me satisfied/pleased/and luckily orgasmed right there.


...Just kidding on the last part. I just really like the series, specially now that it actually has a story line. I LOVED the part where Tifa asked Cloud to trust her, and she fell off the cliff. I was like "Nooooooooo", and then that fight scene after it. O.M.F.G.


Soooo Friggin Intense.... I LOVE DEAD FANTASY WITH AS MUCH PASSION THAT I HAVE FOR FINAL FANTASY VII! xD Hah!

I agree with you, Rinoa is really really overpowered, but if you check out his official website you'll see that Racheal seems to have something within her. So I think she might be the next to be overpowered. And I think giving her the gunblade was just silly, she was strong enough without it Dx plus she had her pinwheel == ..but yeah I'm excited to see who else could join! >-< and I do hope Tifa is okay Dx she was so cool!!

YES!!! Life looks good right now! Question is, who the hell's going to save her? From what I saw, Cloud's too damn busy helping Yuna. Maybe Yuffie will pop up or something. Ah, whatever, as long as someone comes, I won't complain (As long as it's not Wakka or something...... too weird). Monty Oum is full of surprises, so who knows.
 
Ye, I got the downloads of DFI&II in HD. Well as HD as streaming media gets. THEN I found the previews for III,4&5.

DF I - I'm glad I didn't see these when they 1st came out. I'd be going ape shit waiting for the next one, which was finally released like over a year later. I was so pysched when I seen Rikku jump in and that it was her slutty FF X-2 outfit too haha. I remember seeing Yuna do SOME of that crazy stuff in X-2 but this was REALLY over the top for her. It made me think of her as cool as hell. U think they woulda died after all the hits that Yuna landed haha. I guess it's more like a gun that shoots out "magic" then bullets tho. I don't really remember Ihadn't played X-2 since it's release. Rikku's blades were wicked. I loved her guard which was just MORE blade haha. the DoA's what i was expecting. who was it? Ayome? I liked her weapon, I suppose she got that from her father in one of the games? Dun Dun DUNNNNNNN. Tifa enters. I was grinning like a idiot by the time this happened. Especially after seeing Yuna and Rikku get tossed around like rag dolls. I wonder where he was getting these models from? He said he hand an insider @ Square Enix?

DF II - My god, I cannot believe this was going to blow my mind even MORE than teh original. I was like ehhhhhh, I bet this one is not going to be as good as the 1st one. *click on watch in HD* :O :O :O! Tifa can kick some a$$! Not that I didn't know that, but he made Tifa insanly strong (Anyone else think she looked abit like Jackie Chans Drunken Master when she had the elixer or w/e it was?). I loved the way U can see her Materia now and then in the video. I didn't imagine Ayome had so MUCH DAMN POWER! when she blow up the building then proceeded to fight falling down teh walls haha. Then Tifa dragged Kisume across teh wall face 1st then smashing her head into the pillers and THEN slamming her into the beam and floor? My favorite part on the falling part was when Tifa casted haste on her party and they went ape $h!t on everyone. and then she did that demi/ulitima/fire spell mix combo. and, I dunno that chick w/ teh big weapon, but she was a nice addition, very unpredictable , well to me, cuz I missed DoA1 and w/e came after DoA2 : Hardcore. I wonder what Rikku was gonna use/cast? I was thinking she was going to do her limit break item thingy for her party or change into something else like w/ her what do you call it ? from X-2? Cloths Grid? nah, umm Job - Grid? nah, well U probably know what I'm talking about. Monty took this SO FAR, he took it from the original point, to the falling scene, to the Lava then the end where Rhinoa showed up. I couldn't believe how fricking amazing Rhinoa was in this vid. She's one of my fav female characters, but I've NEVER seen her used like this! I loved her design w/ teh wings. ;). espcially when she did her Angel Wing (dogless) or Falling Star w/e that Limit Break was Ye, I think it was Falling Star wasnt' it? Plus when she did that Tornado spell (?) I didn't really care for what's her face..... the lil girl. she helped a lot in battle, I would have hoped to see someone else.

DF III Preview - New models? Hell ye! I woulda been happy to just see the same ol' ones we seen b4. but he went and got some new stuff for us ;) thnk god, this LOOKS SOO MUCH BETTER! not that his previous work didn't look great, it's like episode III : next gen. or somethign like that. I was like OH DAMN, she got her Earthquake materia knocked out and Hitomi used it on her LOL. then she lost em all :( I seriously hope we're not seeing 1/4 of what he's offering in part III. It's great, but I"m hoping Tifa has some redemption after losing all her goodies. and I thought Monty Oum mentioned that he wasn't happy w/ how the other parts were shaping up so he pushed Ayome vs. Rikku up to #3? I guess we didn't see that part of III? I wonder if he moved them back to their orginal position after remaking / adding to the other parts.

DF V & IV : just wow, I don't wanna take up too much space. I would have LOVED TO see cloud help out Tifa, but I guess eh wasn't aiming for that, I am curious to see how he'll do w/ Yuna. I really hate that Hayabusa guy now haha. I hope some FF dude twists him up. preferably Squall, Vincent Valentine, Barret or Zell. damn! even Seifer LOL. Tifa w/ swords was too damn crazy, I sat up even FURTHER when I seen what she was doign w/ em. getting too damn long now, sorry. (woulda been a lot longer) I wish there was spoiler tabs here just incase some of you guys didn't see it yet, but since it's a FF forum, I"m guessing most of U have already saw this.
 
I'm really glad that you enjoyed Dead Fantasy ^_^ as much as I did anyway. I know how you feel, the series blew me away when I first saw it and even now I really do not remember how I came about the series.

I also agree with you about Yuna, she really is pulling off some stunts that I can't really see her doing, she's too shy and innocent despite her outfits in X-2.. but the series is canon so I guess it was still awesome for her to kick some major ass. I like to see different sides to characters, it just expands the imagination a little more.

Tifa is my personal favourite in the series though, she's still keeping it true and fighting with her fists. which raises another question..

Who's the best fist fighter in the Final Fantasy series? because this is being debated among my friends as well.
 
Hmmm, haven't been here in a while. Well, anyway, the best fist fighter, huh? I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it's Tifa, but Zell has some pretty cool moves, too. His limit break is one of best in my opinion. If Monty Oum included him in Dead Fantasy, we'd have another fist fighter on FF's side to possibly challenge Hitomi.
 
I love DF!! lol I ended up stumbling across it. I was like "wtf? I don't remember that scene in FFX-2!" I seriously fell in love with it though.

It's hard for me to say who the best character is in the series let alone the best fighter. I am so happy that Cloud didn't save Tifa. I think it would have taken away from the DF series. I'd like to see Auron save her.

Watch him surprise us though by putting someone like Sephiroth in there. XD Now that would be interesting.... I'm not talking about the Sephiroth from FFVII I'm talking about the one from Crisis Core... you know... where he's actually civilized! I could see him doing that but at the same time I could see him not.

Replica ~ He didn't give Rinoa the gunblade. What he actually did was make her her own gunblade. If you look at his stuff on deviant art you'll see. I don't remember what he put on the side... I think it's something like shooting star? (that just sounds wrong to me.)

DoomTra1n ~ In DFII Rinoa's attack is Wishing Star.

DFIII is completely there. He put more scenes in it apparently. He shows them at anime conventions before he releases them to his site, but he's going to start adding more to them between the time he shows it and the time it's posted. ^_^ It makes me really happy!
 
Dead Fantasy

Even thinks about Final Fantasy character of Square-Enix fighting with Dead or Alive character of Tecmo? well maybe the game will never released, but the fansmade videos are spreading anyway. These great videos was created by Monty Oum and his friends, they named it "Dead Fantasy"even the video quality isn't as good as the real one but for personal made video... This is great !!!.. Episode 3-5 isn't at good quality... maybe we have to wait until Monty upload his video himself.

Omg, these fights look so win. Cant wait to see Tifa beat the crap out of Hitomi, tbqh. Its a personal vendetta i has against Hitomi
