So none of us actually live on the razor's edge, ride the red line to Hell, or get one way tickets to Midnight but I do argue that Heavy Metal is a lifestyle. The head banging, leather jacket wearing, cursing, drinking, ass kicking, no shit tolerated lifestyle. I'm farfrom a picture perfect example of it but I feel the rush when I'm listening to the music. I may not live it but I do feel it sometimes. Does anyone here live the Heavy Metal Lifestyle?

Is it really? All the metalheads I know live relatively normal lives other than listening to metal. Some go to school, some work, some just party, some just don't do anything at all. Generally I find that group to be a much more rowdy bunch when I do get the chance to hang out with them, but in the end they go home to place not too different from my own. I do know some huge metal fans that are complete opposites to the typical "metal head" stereotype as well.

I guess you can say it's a lifestyle in the way rappers lives "the thug lyfe" but I dunno, it seems more like a label than a lifestyle to me.

As for me, not really. I occasionally go to rock concerts (not necessarily metal) and listen to some metal, but other than that I live a pretty standard, struggling middle-class type lifestyle

I play in a death/black metal band, wake up at 3pm everyday, on the doll (Government money) until i get into uni. Play guitar and listen to metal all day, and wash my long hair ;)

I live basically a metal lifestyle.

Bout as close to that lifestyle as I can get. Cursing, have a leather jacket for my bike, and of course head bang when I go to shows, I do enjoy giving a good ass whoopin especially to loud mouths, and I don' take shit from anyone teachers, my boss, just about anyone if I have a problem it will be known and I'll deal with it if no one else will and of course I listen to the music. Then again I could prolly have avoided some situations and job loses because of this but I refuse to back down from anyone or anything.

Pretty much sums up my life, only i'm not in a band nor do i plan on going to Uni, i just spend my days getting pissed up, annoying the neighbours with loud music.

Eat, drink, rock, drugs, sex, sleep.

It's the way to be, take no shit make the most of what life sends your way!

Label. I'm pretty sure it's not so different from a lifestyle of guy who listens to techno or rap, they surely get as wasted as me, and don't hestitate to swear. Apart from that I go to different gigs, and do different stuff on concerts.

Anyway when I played gigs it was as far heavy metal as it could get. Although I don't have a leather jacket (I did when I was 14 though ;) ) drinking, headbanging, and blah all was there. But there are gigs, playing music, listening to music, and there is the rest of my life. And I'm pretty sure that that rest of my life is just as average as my neighbours life.
