Glass Armonica

Well I recently stumbled across a documentary about an instrument called the 'Glass Armonica' on youtube. It was created by Benjamin Franklin I believe, to replace typical water-in-glasses. ^.^

This is one of the prettiest sounds I have ever heard. I'm shocked that I didn't know about this instrument before!

I've read about this thing. Apparently there's this conspiracy that you can get serious injuries just from playing it (either that or sever mental trauma) --- which, either way, I have no clue how it came about. xD

But yeah, melodious sound. Pure win.

off what I can seee. it seems like this makes sound in the same way a crystal glass of wather. or something liek that.

it seems like they have made it into an instrument with several accords..

I read up a little bit on it earlier and I heard that mentioned as well. ^.^
Apparently, they used lead to make the very first armonicas, and extended exposure caused insanity. ^.^

Some kind of lead or something that was made when the glass was manufactured. But nowadays they've been considered 'safe'.

Well there have been lots of incidents in history where people were "driven mad" due to lead exposure. Especially artists who worked with lead paint. ^.^
