Okay, sometimes, we all realise our squad was designed to be together.

Post up your killer character combinations here (any Final Fantasy)!

The Super Bouncy Magic Power Defence Breaker Team of Doom
  • Zidane: thief/warrior.

    Powerful attacks.

Auto-reflect, counter and auto-haste. Learning long reach (allows normal attacks from back row).
  • Garnet: white mage/summoner.

    Powerful summons, decent white magic.

Auto-haste, auto-regen, auto-life, boost (increases summon power), reflect nul (ignores reflect)
  • Vivi: black mage

Powerful black magic (including Osmose, which draws MP from the target -> infinite magic)

Reflect x2 (doubles magic power when bounced off a target), half MP, Return Magic (casts spells back), Mag Elem Null (all his spells count as non-elemental), auto-regen

  • Quina: blue mage

Can basically do anything - blue mage.

Auto-regen, Auto-life, Absorb MP (if offensive magic is cast on him, he absorbs half the MP it would cost to use it), Counter, Auto-Haste.

Strategy: whilst Zidane lays out physical beats (1,900 - 3,000, depending on defence, the rest of the party rests on the back row. Since they all have the defence-boost of being on the back row, high magic defence, auto-regen and auto-life, keeping them safe from harm is barely a priority, leaving Garnet's only duties to be to cure Zidane, who, on the other hand, is slightly more exposed. However, the only attacks that can effect him, due to his auto-reflect status (which Garnet's cures ignore), are Physical attacks and indirect attacks, the former of which he can counter, dishing out more beats. If there is no need to heal him, Garnet can just summon whichever Eidolon she desires (always Bahamut).
Meanwhile, Vivi exploits the booster Reflect x2 gives him, by bouncing his magic off Zidane for double-damage, and should any fool attempt to cast magic at him, he'll send it right back, with return magic. There is no danger of a Fire monster's Firaga being cast back and healing it, because Vivi, with Mag Elem Null, only casts non-elemental magic, regardless of the spell. If he's running out of MP, all he needs to do is cast Osmose, but this is a seldom occurence due to his Half MP support ability.
Quina, a blue mage, can do basically anything. His attacks can (and will) deal anything from 10 to 4,000 damage, making them too unreliable to use, leaving him with an expansive Blue Magic collection. White Wind cures the entire party for about 700 HP (usually ample around Garnet's healing abilities), Frog Drop ignores Defence and Attack stats (instead taking its calculations from his level and how many frogs he's caught, currently is dealing 44*77, whatever that would happen to be. He has some Lv attacks, which only hit targets at specific levels, though a Scan from Garnet can easily yield this information), the attacks he has currently are Holy Lv 4 and Death Lv 5. Magic Hammer damages a foe's MP, and we all know what Bad Breath does. He also has Auto-Life, the spell, which is always to be cast upon Zidane (for boss fights, anyway), since he's the only one without the status effect - or, of course, if anyone happens to have used their lifeline up. Not that they ever have/will.
