I remember a thread about this before but I can't find it anywhere. It was probably deleted after the hacking. Sorry if it is floating out there but I can't find it. Anyways, the official site is in Japanese, so you have to go to google.com and search it. Find the Square Enix link and then hit translate. It doesn't give much information but what it does say is that the game will include

  1. A new JOB SYSTEM!!! There will be 12 jobs that you can choose from. Instead of using the lame lisence grid to advance your characters, now they can follow a specific path.
  2. Original English voiceovers...nothing new there
  3. Wide Screen (I'm not sure of the specific size) format
  4. New Cutscenes
  5. Control of guests and Espers in battle
Seeing how the game has the word International in the title, hopefully it will ship outside of Japan even though no date has been released. The game is voiced over in English, but the disc will only play on Japanese formatted ps2s. I already looked and you CAN obtain a copy of the disc easily but I read that little tid-bit and wasn't sure what the hell to do after that.

If this game were to be able to play on American playstations, I would love to add this to my collection. I enjoyed Final Fantasy XII enough to dump another 60 bucks for the same story line and all these extra features (mostly the job system). There isnt much information on this I would imagine because it is the same game as before, and the only thing we really can know is the new features, and American release date. They have given us half so far!

I'd like to play this. And I love the new job system, along with being able to control Espers and guests. And there is actually extra stuff added in when you beat the game like clear data. And some sort of new dungeon if I'm not mistaken.

Ohhhh right. I remember there is a Game+ thing where you start out at level 90 but you can't level your characters any more than that...but who really needs that when you're level 90? I beat the game at 50. There is also a new Boss fight thing where you can take your character data from the story, and go into a boss fight, beat it, then fight the next boss, etc. If you can't beat it, then you just level up a bit more, save, go to the menu screen and try again. Really wish Square will ship this baby to the states.

Wowee. Job systems. Control over Espers. Seeing as I liked the license grid and didn't use the Espers much anyway... I won't be getting this. The original is good enough for me thanks.

I heard that you can unlock Larsa in this game as a permanent character too, it could work but the story would have to alter slightly =/

Hopefully the new cutscenes will give me the only thing i thought was direly needed in XII - Character interaction.

Why bother with Larsa? He was fine as a guest. Instead of cutscenes, there needed to be more FMV's.

So how can you tell between japanese PS2's and American Ps2's? they look the same to me

Im gonna get it soon, by using my swap magic ^_^
Oh and you forgot another major detail. Quickenings no longer require mp, instead they will use a charge bar ^_^

Yea the music wasn't memorable at all. Larsa as a main character though? It would mess up your party seeing how you can have 2 parties of 3, and that would just add another character. He joined you in the second to last battle, and was still using high potions. Oh and if he is a character to keep then he will be sapping off of YOUR high potions, not his endless supply. I just want it for the new job system. And Rulia, my bad. When I said cutscenes I was implying FMVs. Flipside, I believe the only difference are the parts that are in it. Not totally sure though.

I didn't find it too bad. At first it kinda pissed me off that you had to buy a freakin' license to wear your equiptment. Not too confusing for me though. I don't really want to think about that with a possible job system coming abord!

It's still licence boards, it just has licences do do with the job

Actually it's the same FF12, Coz I already bought it, the voices in English but the written crap in Japanes.Thats it, not even a new characters or new play system...I want my money back!
