Is this game any good how is the online play because I am planning on getting this for christmas. Is it anything like the other Final Fantasy's or is it a completely different game. Does wings of the godess have evertything the other expansions have?

Wings of The goddess itself is an expansion. It is the latest in the installment. The expansions are Rise of the Zilart / Chains of Promathia / Treasures of Aht Urhgan / Wings of the Goddess.
You will need the original game to play the expansion. Each expansion is different and has nothing the others have, thus you need to buy them all.

It is nothing like any other Final Fantasy game in the fact that it is all online. For the most part it is a group effort game in which you have to make friends and do events with rather large groups.

The game has been out for several years and is getting into its decline age because it has lost many of its members.

As I always tell everybody this is one of my favorite games of all time, but I find it would be a tad bit to late to jump in now. If this had been five years ago I would tell everybody to join up.

What do you mean I can not play Final Fantasy XI'S expansion if I do not have the game. Is the expansion the full game plus new levels or something I am very confused.

The expansions themselves such as WOG is just that, an expansion to the main game, added content and areas. You will need to buy the main game itself first which is just Final Fantasy XI. You can find many bundles though that have all the expansions added with it so you can just install all the CDs at once and have all the expansions.

No Grey Fox I am talking about the xbox 360 version. I thought there is only one xbox 360 version and also can I just play the 360 version or do I need something too play. I know for the pc version you need to buy the game itself.

Its just the same on the 360 as it is the PC. All the expansions and so on. Just need the game, keyboard and internet connection.

But there is only one game of Final Fantasy XI on the 360. I thought I can just play wings of the godess just like that. But the game is for ps2 or pc how would that play on a 360. Really am very confused.

There are four games on the Xbox 360. Check out all the expansions I mentioned above. There is the original Final Fantasy XI. And then there are all the added expansions that are listed above. Each expansion is another game but cannot be played unless you have the original. You can type them into a search engine or check them out on ebay.

As far as I am aware the original comes along with Rise of Zilart just like the PC. So you would have to buy Rise of Zilart in order to get Wings of the Goddess to work.

All the games play the same for the ps2, 360, and PC. You all play together.

Oh alright I get what your saying now But what is vanadiel collection 2008 ff Xi? Is that like the best version. Yeah so I will get the original ffxi but are the expansions worth it?

The vanadiel collection is a bundle with all of the games in it as far as I know. I know there are a few different bundles but you have to check them and make sure they have up to the latest expansions.

The expansions are very important to get the most out of the game. In order to level for the most part you need to join groups of people and people tend to migrate to new areas in new expansions. So if you were to just get the normal game without the expansion you wouldn't see like two thousand people because they would be in other areas that are not accessible to you.

Also, other then new areas the expansions add things such as new jobs that you can level with. These jobs are very important and much greater then most of the original jobs that the game starts out with.

You should try this,

http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/final-fantasy-xi/perhaps-a-revitalisation-of-ffxi-23822.html

Go to the link here, you will be able to download the original game for free. You will get a 14 day free trial of the game. After that is over you can choose to buy the expansions and you will be able to keep the character you have already leveled with the 14 day free trial. Upon buying the actual game after you can then have another 30 day free trial added on.

Thus in the end you will have 44 days for free to try out the game and see if you like it. After that time is up you will have to pay a monthly fee for the game plus another $1 for another character if you plan to make more then one. Other then keeping one for storage though there is not much reason to play more then one character because you can level as many jobs on one character as you'd like.

Alright if the expansions add alot more stuff then I will get the game plus the expansions but I am not sure all the expansions can I just get wings of the godess right away or do I have to buy the other expansions first?

Yeah, as far as I know you can just grab WOG and not the other expansions and it will work. But you will still have to pick up Rise of Zilart in order to do that.

With that said though, WOG is the least liked of all the expansions and you would be better off getting Chains of Promathia or Treasures of Aht Urhgan if you wanted to just limit yourself to getting one expansion at the moment. Wings of the Goddess has not been completed yet and all the content is not done. So you would find more to do in the others. And it would make it easier for you to level.

Alright which is better Chains of Promathia or Treasures? Which is better for me to get? Which one is better to level up in. I have a question Can I play with people the whole adventure till the final boss or is it just like you meet people around and you fight them?

You party up with people, there isn't random player vs player. In order to do that you have to join events and do that for fun.

There isn't a final boss in the game, it is all about leveling up and getting new items for the most part. There are still people playing that started six years ago that still don't have half the items you want. Or even worse yet, there are many people that have played for several years and still don't have one job maxed out. The game pretty much never ends because new items and content will be added over and over. That way they just milk you for $12 a month.

Out of the two expansions I'd go for Treasures of Aht Urhgan because it has the more popular auction house and town that most players like. It also gives you new jobs which Chains doesn't.

you should just go ahead and get the 2008 collection for 360, it includes the main game and all current expansions for just $20 http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/intro/shop.html

You could get the expansions in whatever order you want, but the storyline is more enjoyable if you do them in order (RoZ,CoP,ToA,WoG).

The expansions are really all different. RoZ and ToAU added a ton of new gameplay like areas and jobs and new systems. While CoP added fewer new things and was mostly about the storyline side of things. Wings of the Goddess has a good deal of both, adding 2 of the best subjobs in game and a few new gameplay systems. I'd also say WoG's storyline is second best so far, but could easily end up being better than CoP by time it ends.

:highfive: i think it is a different game , and if you play it , and you can have a different feeling , and the godess is so beautiful and powerfull , and i also want to play that game , and i have full information about , if you need , you can contact us

Yeah but I went to the store and found the vanadiel collection 2008 and the guy said that you have to pay 15 dollars a month is this true and I already think my mom bought it for me. FFXI is known as online so then there is no final boss it just goes on and on right?

-its $12.95 a month
-there is no real "final" boss for FFXI, but within the game there are several story arcs and they all have a final boss.
Bastok,San'doria,Windurst,RotZ,CoP,ToAU,WoG for example all have a final boss to conclude the story. There are also lots of other smaller story lines that come to a close with a boss fight. If you're asking if you can ever truly beat the game, the answer is "no".

Yeah but if you can not beat the game what would be the point of playing it? I bet there will be a final final boss one day in the last expansion. Yeah but I bet we will be able to beat it one day. 12.95 hmmmm I guess it is not that bad. Is it the same for the 360?
