final fantasy IX-2?

Absolutely not. FF IX had a very rewarding ending, providing satisfying closure to the game's storyline. There's no reason to spoil that with a sequel.

No they shall not because FF IX was to good for a second one. Also what would be the point of this. Yes it was an :awesome: game but VIII was much better!

To be quite honest, no, I don't think we need one. I liked FFIX, and I don't think we need to whore it out like Square did with FFVII. Do you really want to see FFIX: Vivi's Children or whatever they'd call it? I don't, personally. FFIX closed things up very nicely, really.

FFX got a sequel because it had a lot of fans. FFIX is very under appreciated, and I don't think many people would want a sequel, and it wouldn't be in Square's best interest to make one, since it's a rather old game now, and you don't see many FFIX fanboys/fangirls, but there's still a million FFVII fans.

So, FFIX is an amazing game, but I don't want a sequel :ness:

Agreed, completely. IX had a great ending that, as mentioned, closed it off perfectly. Any attempt to continue the story would, in my eyes, utterly ruin the ending that was otherwise very well carried out (apart from the secret bit).

There were very few cliffhangers, if any (can't remember any right now) and equally few questions left unanswered. Overall it was made extremely well as a single game, giving no room for a workable sequel that wouldn't subtract from the original.

Or at least, that's my opinion. ;)

Wait, what do we have the "Would you like to see a remake/spinoff to this game?" thread for?

Anyway, I never mind a sequal as long as it is done well. Like FFXII:RW for example.
Great game and great sequal. No complains here.
Plus, there are a few things which were somehow unclear to me in the ending.
So I would like to know a little more about it.

Seeing how much squeenix has butchered VII with all the spinoffs, I'd say no. IX is my favorite in the series, and don't want to see what happened to VII, happen to it.
