- Talks mostly about how they are only focusing on PvE at this time. Basically they feel PvP servers are only a small portion of a playerbase with exceptions, they note WoW. PvP will be worked on at a later time.
- Talked about the demographics and in which order they hope to reach them in. First FFXI fans, second Final Fantasy fans, and lastly other MMO fans.
- Next topic was why they decided not to add voice chat at this time, and why they didn't for FFXI as well. Main reason being not everyone has the hardware to support voice chat. If they do then they most likely can gain voice chat from other sources.
- No set date for closing FFXI as long as people are still playing.
- Talked about how they are focusing on communicating more with the playerbase. Also mention how they will have a separate GM staff for FFXIV and have some multilingual capabilities.
- Continued by talking about providing clear regulations on what players can and cannot do.
- Will be a multi-platform release between PS3 and Windows
- Talked about skill up system rather than a level up system via the Armory system
- Mentioned that Guildleves are the questing system for FFXIV
- Mentioned Guildleves will be aqcuired from Aetherytes rather than NPCs
- Talked about party play is still viable as you use the Armory system to fulfill a specific role in a party similar to FFXI jobs
- Mentioned various kinds of Guildleves with the example of solo and small party oriented leves
- Followed by how Guildleves will have requirements, example being skill level, so that players can't do everything at once
- -Discussed how FFXIV will have a deep story, if not more so than FFXI. Example being high quality graphics and voiced cutscenes
- Aiming for a seamless world, but still working on it.
- Talked about how Aetherytes will be used as transportation viateleportation. Also mentions chocobos will be in game but may differ in use from previous FF games.
- In closing we were told to look forward to more announcements in the future.
