Help FFXIII: Ugallu - cannot find for Mission 56

Forgive me, first post, if I should break any RULES.

Trying to location Ugallu for Mission 56 (A Toothy Grin) - I have a pink star on my map in Yaschas Massif (The Ascendant Scarp), I've been through Hope's cutscene in that area, but cannot for the life of me figure out where he actually is. As soon as I run down the log that SHOULD go right to him, the map changes to the lower level and there's no more star.

I am in Chapter 13 (haven't done the endgame/Orphan stuff yet) and accepted this mission from one of the stones in the ring of stones to the north.

if i remember right you are supposed to go down to the lower level, open up the map when you go down to the bottom of the log, the pink star should be in a different location now, sorry if i'm wrong been a while since playing this part of the game

lol so did i... i finished most of the missions and that one was one of the few i had a difficult time finding
