Help FFXIII: Is Buying the Collector Catalogue Worth It?

hey guys i just reached the point where the collector catalog becomes available. I have enough money if i sell all my incentive chips but is it really worth the $100 000 price tag???

if so... about how long will it be until its worth my while?

I wouldn't spend a single Gil on the Collector Catalog unless you're spending a huge amount of time grinding for CP and Spoils before Chapter 11 (which you probably aren't).

The Collector Catalog can be found in Chapter 11 on the Seventh Tier of Taejin's Tower in a Treasure Sphere. So that's the easiest and cheapest way to get it. From here, you'll eventually run into the other two Catalogs (Survivalist and Connoisseur) later in the game. Or you can use the upgrade system to create them yourself. In short, Moogleworks charges waaay too much for these items, and you'll find them in Treasure Spheres anyway.

thanks for your help!!! unfortunately i saved after already buying collectors catalog + reading ur post . But i guess it doesnt matter because im up to chapter 11 now making my way through the missions :].

Just upgrade the collector's catalog. I can't remember the exact catalyst to transform it, I think its one you need to buy.
I'm not too sure if you'll need a 3x multiplier, but to easily get one use 36 vibrant oozes. easiest way to get one

you need a mnar stone which ids 60 or 65k. So the upgrade gets u 60k profit if u buy the catalyst only.
