Ive ordered a copy of FFX and i was just wondering if anyone had any helpful tips for me, since i havent played through before.

Thanks

Make sure you pick the "Standard" sphere grid at the beginning just to get to grips with it, jumping straight to the advanced one could be a mistake.

Watch the tutorials for the sphere grid/blitzball and so on. I ignored the Blitzball tutorial and payed for it lol.

When you can, make sure you get all the ultimate weapons and the aeons. they aren't needed to beat the game, i dont want to spoil anything for you but you'll understand later. they just make it seem more fun because then you know you completed EVERYTHING except maybe the Al-Bhed primers. which i thought were retarded because if you had a few you could figure out what they were saying. but yea, the ultimate weapons w/ their two upgrades are really really cool and are definitely worth getting to see a boost in your characters awesomeness.

Again, thanks for the help.
I'm sure it will all fall into place when i start playing cause it doesnt mean much to me now :P

You won't need to worry about this until very late in the game. I wouldn't worry about getting all of the celestial weapons and aeons though. If you tried that, you'd end up having to level up considerably, and when you came to finishing the game completely, it would be far too easy. That's what happened to me.

Remember, if you haven't realised already, that the characters don't level up automatically. You have to use the sphere grid to do this yourself. If you find yourself unsure of which path to take in the sphere grid, or whether you should ignore a lock until later, try not to worry too much. Much later in the game, teleport spheres and friend spheres, as well as level 1, 2 and 3 key spheres, are very common, so it's easy to go back and fill in gaps if you want to. Level 4 key spheres seem to be pretty rare though.

Oh, and Kimahri seems to be a bit of a problem. I made the mistake of sending him down Lulu's part of the sphere grid, which meant his strength was terrible for most of the game. It may be a good idea to have him learn the Steal ability, since you can apparently steal level 3 key spheres from Biran and Yenke, earlier than you would otherwise get them.
