FFVII remake...

i heard somewhere there might be a remake of this game for the PS3, but i can't find the post anymore and i really wanna discuss this subject,
is it true there are plans
and what would you personally like, remake, or not?

personally i'd like it, as long as the story/names aren't touched, just improved graphics, gameplay etc

i'd die to play this game, but looking at the graphics... well, can't bring it up to play a game sith such "crappy" graphics
