Help FFVII help needed

I cannot beat Dyne. I have tried everything. My wait time to attack is so slow and Dyne can attack faster so i dont have a chance to attack. Im spending all my time healing.

whats the best strategy to kill him

Im using a W machine gun as my weapon and Iflit summon, Cure restore and HP plus materia.


Barrett is level 12. Should i level him some before fighting him?


Please help :wtf:
 
Yeah, if you're in a vicious cycle of constant healing then it just won't work. I honestly don't remember how high I had Barrett leveled for this battle the few times I did it, but I wanna say that your level is way too low. I think the Ifrit summon will be useless overall, so it would probably be better to swap that out in favor of something a little more useful. I forget is Haste is available at this point in the game, but that would at least solve your lack of speed issues. If you possibly have Mighty Guard (once again, not sure if thats available yet), that would also be a major plus.

Those are just a few simple things I see, but my lack of knowledge for FFVII puts me at a disadvantage. So sorry I couldn't be of better help, but I know some of the diehards on this site can point you in a better direction. Maybe that will be all you need, if you can get that stuff that is, best of luck!
 
Level 12 seems really.... low for that point in the game. o_o
I'd recommend trying to level up a bit first, I can't remember exactly what level I normally am by that point by i'm normally 12 by the Shinra Building. <_<
So, levelling is needed. :gasp:

Try equipping the best armour that you have, and possibly an accessory that boosts stats too, Cure materia is a must for this, especially at this level.
Don't use summons or magic, just use normal attacks, only use Cure it'll save MP.
The Big Guard enemy skill is a lifesaver as well if you have that, if you don't then you can't get it till after the prison. ><

As I said before you should do some levelling, 12 is excessivley low for that point in the game, it'll raise his stats too and since he's only that level he should level pretty fast.
If you have any HP Plus materia you can use that too, provided you had the funds to buy one earlier. >_>

So my main advice really would just to level up, a helluva lot. :monster:

Edit:You can get Big Guard by manipulating the beach plugs near Costa Del Sol, you only get Manipulate when you get Cait Sith, so you can't get it yet.

Level up to like 15-18

They way I win this fight is by keeping my friend Barret above half life. Dyne will attack and if he sends you into a limit break use it. If you are just plain injured use a cure spell. Its important to use your limit breaks in the fight. If you can't unload a limit break run around the desert and fight enemies. Just remember the prison is imo the worst place to level up. The thiefs will steal good stuff some times and if you don't kill them right away, its gone forever.
 
Well first off put Barret in the back row, then just use physical attacks and limits when they come up. Shouldn't take more then 2 or 3 tries, your a low lvl though which doesnt help. Boost your Hp as much as possible and, i believe if you have Mind Blow, and use it it takes away most of Dwayne's attacks
 
I leveled a bit and did it.

I won the chocobo race.

I took red xiii back to his hometown

Now im stuck in that area with the dead gi people.

FOr somereason my party ends up with 1 health after a certain part and then we all die. We had full health before that battle too.

Is it a battle that gives you 1hp, or do you sli palong that slippery stuff and get spiked?

It is pretty tricky in there if you arent prepared.... I'd just advise levelling a bit more, the boss can be quite nasty and if you can junction fire materia elemental materia in your armour (not sure if you need to h ave it levelled up or anything to take the edge off fire attacks) and if you have any fire absorby accessories equip them for the boss, i think poison is a bugger in t hat cave too

Theres some nasty spiders that can do some harsh damage further up aswel, so keep your HP topped up with those

It would be a good place to train if it had a save point in there, just go get yourself an extra level or 2, oh and theres the swines that inflict the death penalty on you aswel.... bah its not a nice place to be if you are not prepared at all xD

that must have done it then. i got spiked. i was wondering what happend
 
If you walk across that green liquid on the floor as opposed to running, you wont get spiked, and there's an elemental materia waiting to be snaffled through the door to the south ;))
 
:O level 12! wtf. I dunno maybe it's just cuz I'm a level up whore. I think that's wayy too low. Sometimes I level up my Cloud up to 15-25 (extreme days) on the FIRST screen where I can fight LOL. But that's just me. haha I'm guessing U gotta get Ur battles in and try again in about 5 levels and see what's up. Maybe try to level up once. save then go back and see how much easier it becomes.

maybe he didn't ever use barret and thats why he is under leveled. but still once I get titan I go back to Junon and press that little alarm in the hall and fight my heart out. Good thing there is a save point and an hotel on the next screen. So I fight and win by summoning my summons and then when I get low on MP I go rest. Good Gil, Good EXP, Good AP = good find.
 
beat dyne

when i fought dyne my baret was about level 21 but he
probeblt doesent need to be that high you should probebly be around
level 16-18 you should stock up on m-tenticals it does about 1000
damage and if you cant get any just level up your baret
to about 17 and use summons and normal attacks

Keep Barret in the back row and heal him with Hi-Potions when his HP starts to get low. whenever you get a limit break use big shot. Summon Ifrit first thing. Then just keep attacking and using limits. good luck and hope that helps.
