FFIII Job training

Ok, I've read all kinds of stories about job training. Some say that if you train a character for more than 2 different jobs, that the stats. will never be high enough to do any good, and I've heard that Job training has absolutely no effect on stat growth, save the initial change. I've also heard that the only things that job lvl affects are the number of hits per attack, and the chance for a critical hit. What do I believe?

I'm sure it just improves the chance of dealing critical hits, increases accuracy and increases damage. Changing jobs doesn't do a thing. You could have all of the jobs at level 99 if you wanted to ... All it does is you have to wait a battle or two to get 'used' to the job.
