we've all got absolute favorites but of the movies to come out this year which has been your favorite so far?
i'd have to say so far i havent seen many movies but from what i've seen the New X-Men movie was pretty interesting.Years not over yet though

Definitely the new Star Trek movie. It put all the fears and doubts I had about the project to rest and delivered in spades. Great new cast, great storyline, and absolutely mindblowing special effects. Best Star Trek movie ever. Even better than Wrath of Khan and First Contact.

My opinions on other movies I've watched this year:

Brüno: Absolutely amazing! A lot of people I know didn't have high opinions on this, but I thought it was hilarious. If a penis shouting "BRÜNO!" through the urethra in a high pitched voice isn't world class humour, then I don't know what is :wacky:

District 9: Great movie with a great storyline. Only complaint would be the Ratchet and Clank-style alien weapons which I thought didn't really fit in with the overall feel of the movie. That's a very minor complaint though.

He's Just Not That Into You: LOL it's not really my thing, but my girlfriend dragged me along to this one. Atleast there was something nice to look at. Damn Scarlett Johansson is hot!!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans: Decent enough action flick. Nothing spectacular. I could probably have waited till the DVD release.

Monsters vs. Aliens: A bit short, but funny as hell.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Decent enough action flick and definitely as good as the other X-Men movies. Only problem is that after Nolan's Batman movies, the bar for superhero movies is set so much higher than this.

Terminator Salvation: I was a bit sceptic about this one, so I wasn't horribly disappointed. It did confirm on thing to me though: The Terminator franchise just isn't viable without Arnie.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen: Great action movie with some cool special effects and some funny slapstick comedy. The romantic scenes are as cringeworthy as they were in the first one :P

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Not very good at all. Very long and very boring. I abandoned the books after The Prisoner of Azkaban, so I don't how it compares to the source material. My girlfriend tells me that they did what they could with what they had to work with.

Inglourious Basterds: I still haven't quite made up my mind about that one. Brad Pitt is really funny as Aldo Raine, and Christoph Waltz is brilliant as the "Jew Hunter" Hans Landa. Dividing the movie into 5 chapters just makes it feel a bit fragmented.
