I looked but didn't see one quite like this but don't hesitate to merge/delete this thread if there is one.
Not your favorite performance. What is your favorite and/or least favorite film portrayal of a fictional character from other work (literature, video games, comic books, etc.)?
My favorite off the top of my head was Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. I didn't get to go out and see the movie as soon as it came out so I opted to read the book before seeing any of the films. After reading it and seeing his performance, I thought it was a very truthful to the book and enjoyed it quite it a bit. He was reclusive and reluctant, but seemed curious enough and brave. Also, I was always a big fan of Malcolm McDowell as Alex from A Clockwork Orange. He really brought out the sinister, sociopath nature of the character.
My least favorite would easily be Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. Even as a kid I never liked this. It's one of my favorite actors playing my favorite Batman villain. I always felt he was miscast but that wasn't even the biggest problem. The way he was written, they might as well have just made him The Joker. He pretty much acted like him.
