CHAPTER ONE DREAMS SOON FORGOTTEN
I wish I could say goodbye.
It’s too dark, pitch black I can’t see anything.
A girl with long curly black hair began to run, soon she slipped and fell.
Dammnit!
She got up and started to run again and could hear people running towards her as she tried to outrun them. Suddenly, she froze; her gray blue eyes expressed immense pain, out of nowhere she was impaled by a long sleek sword.
“No!”
It was 5 a.m. a man with spiky blonde hair sat up from his bed and covered his face. Two weeks had passed and still he had the same dream, same reaction and had always woken up at the same time. He got up from bed wincing at the pain geostigma had inflicted upon him. The man rode to a church in the slums saddened at the fact that he had to leave. He couldn’t—wouldn’t be a burden.

Where is she?
It’s too dark, pitch black I can’t see anything.
A man with spiky blonde hair ran through the darkness, an anxious look on his face, they were getting close to her. He was near her.
I won’t let him
He ran faster as the thought of what would happen to her clouded his mind. He could hear footsteps nearing him and tried to be faster than them. Suddenly, a gasp. He froze; his mako filled eyes expressed immense torture as he heard a body fall to the ground.
“No!”
A girl with long curly black hair awoke covered in sweat.
Hmm?
The girl got up hazily; surrounding her was a field of never ending flowers.
Where am I?
She frantically looked around, her eyes blinking rapidly.
I should get home and—
“Ahh!”
The moment she took a step forward a woman appeared. The woman had brown boots, a pink dress and a red jacket. Her emerald eyes brightened with excitement.
“Hello Icil, I’m Aerith Gainsborough!” she said.
Huh?
“How do you know my name?” Icil asked.
Aerith only giggled and shook her head.
“Fine… can you tell me where I am?” said Icil.
“Hmm… I don’t think I can.” she replied.
“Then I’m going home.” Icil said turning away from Aerith.
“You can’t go home.”
Icil immediately turned to look at her, but she was gone.
What did she mean by—ugh!
All of a sudden, Icil staggered back clutching at her forehead, a sticky substance gushing out. A great amount of pain had hit her. She dropped to her knees trying to suppress her overflowing tears. Soon her world went black.

Reno, Rude, Cissnei, Tseng, and Rufus Shinra were at the abandoned village of Modeoheim looking for something Rufus wanted. Each of the Turks was searching different parts of the snowy village. Rufus was staying in one of the houses trying to decipher a code found on a computer. It was near midnight and still none of the Turks had found anything.
“Ah. Now what?”
Reno answered his phone angrily; annoyed at the fact that Cissnei had called over twelve times to make sure he wasn’t fooling around.
“Look if you call one more time I swear I’m going to—oh…yeah I’ll be right there.”
He hung up the phone and ran to the house where Rufus was at.
The house was shabby and looked as if it were to fall at any given moment. Reno slowly opened the door and saw Rude carrying a girl with bloody torn up clothes and slashes all over her body.
“You were looking for a person?” Tseng asked.
Rufus nodded, “This girl is important.”
“I think she has geostigma.” said Cissnei.
“Rude take her to Healin Lodge.” ordered Rufus.
Rude nodded and walked out the door.

It was nightfall and Icil was sitting on a cliff overlooking a strange city. The cliff seemed familiar as if she had been here before. She stood up and faced the city. This place made her sad; a depressing feel was surrounding it.
Suddenly, she felt the presence of a man behind her.
“You don’t remember me do you?”
Icil turned around; the man’s face five inches from hers. He had long spiky black hair and wore a first class SOLDIER uniform.
“Who are you?” she whispered looking at her feet.
“Icil don’t you remember me?” he said.
She looked up to find him staring at her fiercely.
“No…I don’t think I’ve ever met you before…”
“C’mon! Think Icil!”
She stared at his face closely, looking into his sky blue eyes.
“I don’t know you”
His eyes turned sad as if he had just seen a dear friend die.
“You have to.”

Tifa Lockhart walked out of Denzel and Marlene’s room with a heavy heart. She didn’t know how to answer the children’s continuous questions regarding Cloud’s recent location. She walked down the stairs and sat on the bottom step. Remembering.
"Cloud, you're smiling. “
"I am?"
"Yeah."
"Everything starts now. A new..." Cloud looked for the right words, "A
new life."
"I'm going to live. I think that's the only way I can be forgiven. We've
been through... all sorts of things."
"I guess you're right..."
"But when I think about how many times I've thought about starting a new life, it's funny."
"Why?"
"I've always failed to do it."
"That's not funny."
"...I think it will be all right this time."
Cloud became very quiet for a moment. Then he said, "Because you're
always with me."
"I haven't always been with you."
"That's how it will be starting from tomorrow," Cloud replied smiling
again.
Tifa leaned against the wall covering her face, tears swelling up.
“Cloud, where are you?” she whispered.
“I’m right here.”
“Huh?”
Tifa uncovered her face to find a very confused Cloud looking down upon
her. She stood up wiping away her tears with the back of her hand.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing, nothing at all.” she answered smiling up at him.
She started to walk up the stairs, Cloud following close behind. Tifa walked to her bedroom but never opened it; Cloud noticed this and did the same.
“Cloud?” whispered Tifa.
“Yeah?”
“Where do you go when you’re not here?” she asked.
“I’m delivering items, so I go to lots of places.” Cloud answered.
“Sometimes you don’t come home for days.” Tifa said, looking at her feet.
Cloud and Tifa stayed quiet. She could feel his eyes on her but still looked down.
“Goodnight Tifa.”
