Each character has at least 3 exclusive weapons. Most have 3, some have 4, Cecil has 5.
There are 4 types of these exclusive weapons.
1. Story Mode exclusive. IIRC there are only 3 - Cecil's Dark Sword, Cloud's Buster Sword and Tidus' Official Ball. These are obtained through Destiny Oddyseys as treasure. They are required for level 50 exclusives (see below).
2. Level 50 exclusives (although there are some that require level 51 or 53). ATK + 34 - 36, can have other effects. They require:
1 x Weapon from the same class as the exclusive, bought from the shop w/ Gil -or- Story Mode exclusive.
3 x Dusty Elixir component that's used to make weapons from the same class as the exclusive.
2 x Battlegen Shards, each corresponding to the character the exclusive is for.
We'll take Ghido's Whisker (Exdeath's) as an example. It is a staff, thus it will require 1 x Healing Staff, 3 x Thorny Lumber and 2 x Reflex Shard. Healing Staff can be bought from the shop w/ Gil. Thorny Lumber is a component that can be bought with Dusty Elixirs or obtained from the DC that is required to make several staves, such as the Rune Staff. Reflex Shard is a Battlegen item from Exdeath. Got it?
These weapons have an effect that differs from character to character. For example, Ghido's Whisker has BRV boost on block due to Exdeath being an expert at blocking and countering.
3. Level 92 exclusives (some of them require level 93 or 95). ATK + 61 - 64, can have other effects. They require:
1 x Level 50 exclusive of the character the weapon is for.
5 x Hi-Elixir component that's used to make weapons from the same class as the exclusive.
3 x Battlegen Crystals, each corresponding to the character the exclusive is for.
Thus, Moore Branch will require 1 x Ghido's Whisker, 5 x Revival Tree and 3 x Reflex Crystal. Ghido's Whisker is Exdeath's level 50 exclusive. Revival Trees can be bought w/ Hi-Elixirs or can be obtained from the DC. Reflex Crystal is a Battlegen item from Exdeath. It's not rocket science.
These weapons have the same effect as the level 50 exclusive, but improved. Thus, Moore Branch has BRV Boost on Block +15%, as opposed to Ghido's Whisker's 10%.
4. Level 100 exclusives. ATK + 67 - 70, can have other effects. They require:
1 x Level 92 exclusive of the character the weapon is for.
5 x Megalixir component that is only used for level 100 exclusives (there are exceptions - Brigandine requires Lone Hearts which are also required for Zeromus' Shard).
5 x Battlegen Orbs, each corresponding to the character the exclusive is for.
Enuo's Scourge requires 1 x Moore Branch, 5 x Power of the Void, 5 x Reflex Orbs. Moore Branch is Exdeath's level 92 exclusive, Power of the Void is obtained through buying it w/ 4 Megalixirs or obtaining it in the DC and Reflex Orb is a (rare) Battlegen Item from Exdeath.
These also have an improved effect - Enuo's Scourge has BRV Boost on Block + 20%.
What makes level 100 exclusive special is that they come with an Extra Ability. Enuo's Scourge has Riposte Effect. Thus, you won't have to waste CP on Riposte - simply equipping the weapon will do!
Note that Cecil has not one, but two level 100 exclusives - Lightbringer has +2 Defense when Cecil is a Paladin, Cimmerian Edge has +2 Attack when Cecil is a Dark Knight. Lightbringer has Sneak Attack while Cimmerian Edge has Counterattack. They both need the same components though and stats though. It's up to you.
Now, on to the best way to get these exclusive weapons.
Step One: Go to the shop! Find the level 50 exclusive. Observe what it needs. If it needs a weapon, buy it from the shop. If it needs a Story Mode exclusive, if you haven't got it already, go find it!

Step Two: Go to the Duel Coliseum Airship Course. There, you will find Dusty Elixirs that are used to make components. Sometimes, you will find the component itself as a treasure. Once you have enough D. Elixirs, buy the components you need with them.
Step 2 for Exdeath is to get enough D. Elixirs to make 3 x Thorny Lumber - that's 9 D. Elixirs since each Thorny Lumber requires 3.
Step Three: 90% of the time you will have enough Shards to make the exclusive, but if you don't, go Battlegen them! It should be easy. Consult the Battlegen menu in the Customization menu for details.
Step 3 for Exdeath is to Battlegen 2 Reflex Shards by performing a HP attack on a level 23 Exdeath.
Step Four: Buy the level 50 exclusive. [/captain obvious]

Step Five: Duel Coliseum Invincible Course. Get Hi-Elixirs for components. I don't think I need to further explain.
Step 5 for Exdeath is to collect 15 Hi-Elixirs and buy 5 Revival Trees.
Step Six: 70% of the time you will have enough Crystals to make the exclusive, but if you don't, go Battlegen them! It should be easy. Consult the Battlegen menu in the Customization menu for details.
Step 6 for Exdeath is to Battlegen 3 Reflex Crystals by performing a HP attack on a level 44 Exdeath.

Step Seven: What do you think? Buy the level 92 exclusive.
Step Eight: It's trickier now. You need to get 20 Megalixirs! You can get them from the Duel Coliseum Lunar Whale course. However... If you are very good at the game, you can do Time Attack in under 15 minutes to get 10 of them. You can then repeat and you'll have enough. If you fail to do it in under 15 minutes but still do it in under 20 minutes, you'll get 5 Megalixirs, so there's nothing to lose.
Step 8 for Exdeath is to get 20 Megalixirs and buy 5 x Power of the Void w/ them.
Step Nine: It seems annoying and hard, but it's easy when you know what to do. Orbs can be obtained w/ Battlegen. You need to perform a BRV break on your opponent in order to get one, however the chances are slim. I have just the right accessory setup for this!

While in the battle with a level 100 enemy w/ Minimal Strength, get your BRV to 9999 and your EX gauge to 100% ASAP, and make sure your opponent has used his summon. Keep performing BRV breaks until you see "(STAR) Rank Accessory Created!". Win the battle, repeat the battle until you have 5 orbs.
Step 9 for Exdeath is to fight a level 100 Exdeath w/ Minimal Strength @ Quick Battle and keep breaking him until he gets an orb, win the battle, then repeat until he has 5 Reflex Orbs.
And that's it. You will have your level 100 exclusive weapon!
Note 1: I chose Exdeath as an example b/c Exdeath's level 100 exclusive is the most powerful exclusive in the game. BRV boost on block and Riposte effect, what more do you want for Exdeath?
Note 2: Sometimes, weapons such as Ragnarok, Stardust Rod and Heaven's Cloud are better than the exclusives. It's up to you.
