On various websites it says something about Memoria and 12 hours... Does it mean you have to get to Memoria in 12 hours! Sounds impossible! Or does it mean you have to get through Memoria in 12 hours?

nope it means get to memoria in 12 hours. It is possible . An easy way of doin it is to open your disc tray whever theres a cutscene which makes it skip.
But if you are going to get it be prepared for a low level game since you dont have the time to lv up :)

There's no point really.
By the time you get excalibur II, you'll still have to spend 30+ hours leveling your characters up. o_O

you would spend 30+ hours on it anyway right?
Besides it makes a nice challenge to do and the weapon is very powerful and looks cool

But aren't there certain sidequests that you miss out on in the process?? O_O

you may miss out on the excalibur 1 quest yes and a few others that dont really matter (later quests are better and net better prizes)

I don't think I could do it, and I wouldn't want to. My characters would be so weak at the end it would be rediculous. Props to whoever does it though; quite a feat indeed.

Ah I wouldn't want to do that - I've already spent about 60 hours on it, and my main team is at about level 75, and I've completed all the sidequests... I'm at the point just before Hades, but I'm not worried coz I've beaten him before (even if it was years ago, I've only got better)

I would get the sword personally. Its a powerful weapon, right? and if you get it that early in the game, it could make a diffrence in some battles, or make leveling easier. Who knows till you've done it?

yeah and it can be used as bragging rights as well :)
But it is the strongest wep in the game and it looks cool

By the looks Supernova, you already got it, right?
So let ask you this, remember I don't have it, some say that if we do the overclocking, the red clock, between the 100 and the 112 hours it would be possible to have it. Do you know if it is possible?

Im not sure but you mean that the clock resets after 100 hours?
I did it under 12 hours and it was there against the wall in the room where you fight lich

Hey that's a good question. o_O
But I don't have nearly that many hours in...I'd have to leave my playstation on for three days just to figure it out. lol.

lol i could try it only if my ff9 worked
but dosnt it stop at 99:59 hours like ff7 does?

I thought the clock just reset...I don't remember it ever stopping...I can't remember correctly though.
Incidentally, I'm out of town and I won't be able to play FF9 for another month or so. =[
Someone else will have to test this little theory out.

maybe it's diffrent than ff7 then
If it does reset then it would be really easy to get it

Yeah, but you'd have to either just load the game, and leave it on the party menu screen for hours, or train your characters to the highest level... Either way it's pretty boring while you wait for the clock to reset...

But by the time you have your characters leveled up, you can just leave it on for 24 hours...while you're out or something. ^_^
Not that big a deal. ^_^

i think i prefer getting it the hard way since it sounds more fun
