I think people should really stop calling Final Fantasy Heroes 'emo'.I don't know,but it just bothers me because,well,they're NOT emo?

Cloud - Sure,he may be depressed,but that makes him emo? We all know why he's depressed and he has really good reasons to be.

Squall - I don't know,but Squall just seemed to have this 'cold' personality.He built up that personality so that he wouldn't get hurt emotionally anymore and we all know WHY.

Tidus - I almost fainted when I saw people calling Tidus emo.I've never played FFX,but I watched a bit of the walkthrough on youtube and so...come on.TIDUS?

The new FFVersusXIII hero - Yes,he has this darkness about him,but to call him emo? That's just ridiculous to me.He's trying to protect the last crystal so there obviously has to be this dark-cold-toughness personailty
to him,right?

Hmm.I guess I made my point.Anyway,I just wanted to say what I said because it just bothers me and I was wondering if it bothered others,too.
I know it's just a game,but...it just bothers me.

I don't think of them as emo, why, they're not even emo in any sense when it comes to many aspects like attire and demeanor. Well, IMO.

I identify with that last part about dark, cold, and tough. That well describes all three, to be honest.

Cloud Strife is emo in the same way Chuck Norris is emo: not at all.

I’ve never really classed any of the one’s in your list as emo. Lol, many other things, but certainly not emo.

I would say out of all of them the only one to really fit into the emo/goth category would have to be Squall. Squall did pretend not to have feelings through most of the game... and then he broke out and cried once. So yea, I'd have to say that he fits the "I have no personality! I am cold! Boohoo... I want my momma!" *sob* thing.

I'm so happy that no one can positively say that Zidane is emo. Thankfully he isn't on that list If he was, I'd have to slap whoever said he's emo.

Sure, Tidus whines a little bit, but he has a reason to. And for the majority, he's a pretty upbeat guy.

You have to understand that 'emo' originated as a noun version of emotional. In that sense, a lot of FF characters can be deemed 'emo', but then so can most people. But in todays culture/society/whatever 'emo' is used usually as a term for people who either have problems or simply want attention through being overly emotional and some by doing silly things, like.. exploring the insides of their wrists? =P ^^; Although nowadays i suppose it's more of a style.

So in the latter sense calling any FF character emo is pretty ridiculous, considering that none are overly depressed (well okay Cloud got pretty pissed off at one point =p) and none really follow the 'style' or, uhh, let's say 'traditions' And however called Tidus emo is a bit of a moron.

But anyway, the series would be amazingly boring if all the characters were happy happy all the way through the damn games. It'd be like a bad RPG version of my little pony or something.
