The battle takes place in the East Gulmore Jungle, but I believe it is bypassible. You can head south through the jungle and zone into the Felwood, and from there head east into the Mt. Bur snow area (name?), therefore passing over the somewhat difficult boss battle and continuing toward the Mt. I haven't tested this, but it is an option to those who want to try it.

lol its not that hard to beat him. Heres a tip. DONT USE MIST ATTACKS. Have 2 people focus on attacking and the 3rd healing. Have the healing person switch off when they run out of MP. First things first, kill the two guardians or whatever there names are, then focus on the dragon. (its not a wurm BTW) Only thing that you have to worry about is his one attack that can confuse your party members along with other status effects. So get thoes off quickly and continue.
Yeah it isn't a difficult battle just long. When he uses his Sporefall attack, be ready to administer Esuna to each character because it puts every status on you. Two Treants spawn at the beginning of the battle, kill them off first.

I beat him first try through, not a really tough fight, I think I was around lvl 25 when I got there
