Digimon fans here

*starts chanting*

Digimon, digital monsters, digimon are the champions!

I can't believe I remember that -__- Haha, I loved that show...well, only the first two seasons. After that it started to suck.

I even had one of those little Digimon versions of Tamagotchi, it had Agumon on it ^_^ Then the batteries died eventually and they were those gayass flat batteries people put in watches that you can't find anywhere. I think I actually still have the thing lying around somewhere though...and I think I have a poster in some drawer...I should put it up again ^_^

Oh and for the record, Digimon >>> Pokemon
 
I loved the first Digimon when it first came out. Up until probably the first movie I really enjoyed it but then things after that started to get really complicated and I just couldn't really follow. I did watch some of it today when I saw that it was on TV.
 
Was anybody here originally in the Pokemon camp?

I remember being a little kid obsessed with Pokemon and refused to watch Digimon cuz I thought it was a Pokemon clone. But I actually started to watch it, and then soon found out that Digimon as a franchise started out years before Pokemon, but didn't get translated until later.
 
I switched back and forth. For a while I was like "digimon is a ripoff!" then I watched it and was like "ZOMG it is teh r0XXorz!" and then finally I decided both were awesome in their own right ^_^

I never knew Digimon started before Pokemans did though.
 
I enjoyed Digimon because the Digimon spoke to their masters. I still have the movie somewhere. I was mad on it, it kinda ranked with Pokemon for me, but I enjoyed Digimon more. I even named my gineau pig after Tai!
 
Yeah, it comes off as a little more...'teen' in its approach to the audience. The storyline was epic too and most of the Digimon were pretty cool in their own right.

Yeah, eisprinz, I remember being one of those kids too. :P
I jumped on the bandwagon after everyone started saying that Pokemon was the coolest thing ever to happen to TV. :wacky:

But then I happened to catch an episode of Digimon Season 1 on and I fell in love with the whole series. <3
 
I even have a funny story related to Digimon ^_^

One Saturday where they were showing that episode where Seadramon showed up and they had to fight it off with...I guess Garurumon was the one who fought him off? Can't remember... Anyway, I woke up early to watch it, and right after the theme song played my dad made me come outside and help him clean the gutters. I was sooooooo pissed at him for that xD

Luckily there's such a thing as repeats so I was able to watch it later. On another note, the Japanese theme song to Digimon (the first season) sucks. It's just typical happy J-pop crap. The techno American theme fits the show soooo much better.
 
I watched this on TV, it was ok. Yeah the first two seasons were better. I hate it when they change the main characters.

Damn straight! And when I was younger wolves used to be my favorite animal, so I thought WereGarurumon and Metal Garurumon were pure win. And they still are ^_^ Metal Greymon and Skiull Greymon were pretty good too ^_^

Later on in the series they started to get lame...it wasn't the Pokemon syndrome either (where every monster starts looking the same, only lamer). Instead, it decided to try to clone DBZ and start having Digimon fuse together. Lame.

Awww... you don't like Butterfly? I mean, it totally doesn't fit the series looking at it from the American POV, but I thought the American theme was a billion times cheesier and boring to boot.

That's what it's called? Nope, I don't like it. I mean it's a nice song...but it's too generic, and yeah, from my point of view it doesn't fit the series at all. I agree, the American theme song is cheesy, but I think the techno aspect of it fits the series a lot more...and I never found it boring and still don't cuz I find it nostalgic ^_^
 
I liked this series when it first started. I had the cards, the digivice where you could battle and even some of the toys. I still catch it on tv once in a while. But after the first like three seasons I didnt like it anymore. The best ones had to be the ones with the crests. (season 1 I think) and the Digieggs (season 2). I still see them once in a while so its like reliving my child hood.
