both great games but i prefer gow series due to the deph and varity of weapons, characters ect. depends what u like there both button mashing games extermely great but i enjoy the greek mythology type stuff.

Thats Really not a nice question they are both two totally different games one is about being betrayed by the gods and in time becoming a god and the second is about being the son of a demon, one has chain blades and kick ass magic one has, guns and swords im going to have to say DMC because there is a better story line and it doesnt contradic everything i know about greek mythology.

LOVE DMC series and never played god of war is it any good
Devil May Cry gets my vote. The game has just has more style to me and more replay ability. GoW and GoW2 I finished in 2-3 days. Devil May Cry 3, I can beat it once and then go through it again with another style. Plus, the difficulty of DMC is sooo much higher than GoW

This is one of the hardest decisions ive made.
GOW has uber violence and satisfaction after killing a subboss/boss and dark humour cutscenes ie the Captain

DMC which has style,finess and good music. also it lasts alot longer and is harder.
So in my book DMC just wins it by a nose.

I didn't play either but I saw the trailer of God Of War. Jesus!!! That game is soooo coool! There was this guy and he had to fight this Giant that looked like Julius Ceasar

WTF is up with all you deprived people not playing GoW?! Go buy the games now! The first one is only $20 and i'm guessing GoW2 is down to $30 by now.
Um....this is a very cruel choice to be asking people to make though, both series are fantastic (well....if you exclude DMC2). I'm going to pick God of War though, because there's more violence AND it's all about Greek mythology, which i've loved ever since i was a kid.

Kratos gets my vote here. I so enjoyed the way they did their own spin on the greek mythology by placing Kratos into the shoes of many greek mythology heroes, but twisting and turning to fit the dark mood of the game and his own story. Fights are fun, and it never gets boring, dialogue is good, cut scene even better in both games...and off course, let's not forget gore and violence I love Kratos
Do not get me wrong, I like DMC series a lot...absolutelly loved the first one, in spite the most cheeseast dialogue ever I guess...no I am wrong, the second one is worse in the dialogue department. Actually it is that bad, I had to mute it cos I could not handle the horrible lines...aweful. Second one was damn boring too must admit, not much there. Third one was excelllent on the other hand, dialogue sucked here and there, but nothing to be put off by it. But had to say I was dessapointed with Virgil's game. When I started Virgil, I expected to kind of get the other side of the story from Vergils point of view and all it was replaying levels but just having Virgil,...and that sucked big time.

Actually God of War 2 too has a little sex game too
...it is also at the beginning, when you fight the Colossus..you gotta do something with some pots to activate it....but I missed it....found out about it later.
