Apparently, it can't play older games. What a RIP. You just KNOW that they're gonna remake old games just for this console and you just KNOW that we are ALL going to be swallowed into it :P
 
it says it's playing oplder games. Hope not though, cause that's a main reason my dad wants it. DOWN WITH SONY! DOWN WITH PLASYTATION!
 
The report I read earlier made it sound like it played "most" of the older PS games... But just how many is that??

Someone told me they already have a firmware update available to fix it, that you would just have to download it.
 
Even if it cant play older PS games, im pretty sure a 3.2Ghz processor can emulate PsX and PS2 games.
 
sony makes much mistakes the ps 2 was awesome but the ps 3 oh my don't like it and now you say tha can't play older games shit
 
Yes actually you can play older games. You have to go into the menu, go to game(the controler symbol) and choose memory card utility. From there, you can create an internal memory card so that you can play your older games.

There are only about 100 games or so that cannot be played on the PS3.
 
i think its a shit its more better the ps2, even the xbox 360 against the ps3 wins, i like the older games like re or ppww but if i cannot play on ps3 fuck that maybe i wont have it better get a laptop
 
that link is no longer working, but by the sounds of this I believe you are talking about backwards compatibility?

In that case you should now that about 97% of all PS1/PS2 work with no problems on a PS3, there are a few games however that do not work
 
DAMN SONY! They built our ******* hopes up with this system, making it sound like the mother of all gaming consoles...THEN THEY **** IT UP! Their melting down left right and centre, eating games, and doing ********* of other stuff...

I swear to God, I wan't to sue every single one of them (thank God I didn't get the PS3...)

P.S. I asterisked my...post by myself, no need for mods here :D
