In light of the CSI threads popping up, I'm leading my own xD I love CSI and this idea falls nothing short of incredible.

You're a forensic scientist in Ivalice, of Final Fantasy XII. A corpse was discovered in Dalmasca, Lowtown, in the Garamsythe Waterway, in the water. The body wore strong armour, bit it was quite rusted and scratched, suggesting that the armour was either old, or the body had been in the water for some time.

When the body was removed from the water, it was discovered that the cause of death was by gunshot to the temple. Unfortunately, the shot was a through-and-through, so the bullet has not been recovered. No GSR was detected on the body, ruling out suicide; although, GSR washes off easily, which is a possibility, given the crime scene. It is not known if the crime scene is primary.

The victim carried a wallet and has been identified as a minor Archadian Judge.

Posters should give an account of what else should be done at this crime scene and what the course of action should be next. I'll update my posts once per day, depending on the number of replies, it may be more.

I love csi also;)

-Since the bullet went all the way through the head, it could have hit a wall behind the body. other than that, one question i would ask is what reason would a minor Archadian for being down in the waterways? maybe someone led the victim down into the waterway or there was someone waiting for him. in that case i would ask around to see if anyone saw the judge enter the waterways and if so, was he alone?

-the rusted and scratched armour may indicate a fight before the death. Maybe the person who killed the victim was not alone.

I would ask around to see if the victim entered the waterways by himself or if someone led him there.

If the bullet cannot be found, there is a possibility of this being a secondary crime scene.

Maybe an execution gone wrong? I'm liking how this story is going already :]

The rust suggests that the armour has been exposed to both water and oxygen (the two ingrediants required for this process). Either that, or the armour is just old - but then, would he be allowed to be a Judge with rusted armour? I think not. We are then left to conclude that he victim has been floating in the water for some time.

Liver temp would prbably be off due to the body being submerged in water so that's out for checking the cause of death. Once back in the morgue check the body's stomach contents to determine the last time the vic had eaten. Take the armor in for analysis and to see if there was any trace remaining on it, inside or out. Then find Talk to the family of the victim to find out if he had any enemies.

Well spotted on the liver temp. I was wondering if anyone would notice that xD My suggestion now would be to examine the level of decomposition [which may be made more difficult, due to the protection of the armour from bacteria].
