I've found a fairly detailed yet vague plot summary on KHWikia and was wondering if anyone could confirm/expand on things that are mentioned. There are very few cutscenes on Youtube and overall hardly no access to Coded content if you're on this side of the world.

"We must return to free them from their torment."
Who wrote this? Do we not know? I'm thinking that Jiminy actually wrote it but has no memory of it (since I know Naminé and memories are involved in this cryptic message) and that it relates to Terra, Aqua and Ven. I'm also thinking that there could be another game, or at least series of explanations, to explain why that message has appeared in his journal (if it's origin isn't explained in Coded already).

To investigate this message, King Mickey digitizes the contents of the journal and goes into the simulated world to investigate; awakening a virtual Data Sora on the virtual Destiny Islands to carry out the contents of the journal to uncover the identity of "them".
Is this basically saying that Mickey "plays through" the Journal? If so, how does that work, if the Journal is empty bar those 2 entries?

Suddenly, the cloaked figure reveals himself to be Jiminy's Journal taking the form of Riku, and explains that they are no longer in the real world, but the data world.
What?

Sora is sent off by the Journal to discover his true identity, only to encounter Maleficent and Pete from the real world. Maleficent destroys Data Sora's Keyblade and summons Heartless to attack him. Mickey and the Journal arrive to save Sora, but the Journal is abducted by Maleficent, with Mickey giving chase. Sora makes his way through Hollow Bastion, aided by Donald and Goofy. They encounter Pete, who summons the Journal and takes control of him with the bugs to fight them, but Sora still manages to defeat the Journal, who falls unconscious.
Again, what?

Mickey arrives and informs Sora that unless the bugs are destroyed, the Journal will never awaken. Sora decides to find a way to awaken the Journal, and enters Riku's data world, losing his abilities in the process.
"Awaken the Journal"? The theme of sleep is mentioned here again but...what the fuck?

Sora finds them fighting Sora's Heartless, but Pete and Maleficent are erased before he can intervene. Sora defeats Sora's Heartless and Mickey returns to the real world, erasing the Journal.
Sora's Heartless? This makes everything go tits up doesn't it? And erasing the Journal?

Mickey, realizing that this quest may be too dangerous for Data Sora as he has no memory of it, requests to be taken into the Data World once again.
Data Sora has no memory? Of what?

Finding Data Sora in Traverse Town, Mickey takes him to Castle Oblivion where Data Sora is confronted by a young man wearing a black coat.
And the significance of Castle Oblivion is...?

Sora opens the next door to find Naminé, who reveals the bugs to have been an unintentional side effect of her attempt to restore Sora's memories.
What?

She then reveals Sora's nature as the "Key that connects everything" through his ties with herself, Roxas, Xion, and Axel.
I knew it! Axel's definitely connected to Sora through Roxas. Xemnas suggested it and now Naminé's confirmed it. Make way for Axel's return in a future title, guys!

Furthermore, Naminé tells Data Sora about three figures also tied to Sora's heart who are the ones referred to in the message and need his help.
What help do they need? Is this made clear in Birth by Sleep, or is this something unconfirmed?

I am not sure he wrote it, and if he did, where did he learn of Terra, Aqua, and Ven? This is stumping me as well.

It seems that the journal had information hidden in it that needed to be gathered manually, hence Mickey creates a Data version of Sora, based on his KH1 incarnation, that goes through the journal after it is converted to data.

Remember, they are not in the real world. They are in the journal. It was converted into data and within the journal, the journal assumes many different forms to relay many different things to Sora each time.

Again, what?

According to my knowledge. There were two journals. One was the true one and the other was a false one. I am guessing the false one was trying to keep Data Sora from unlocking the contents of the real journal for some reason, becoming an obstacle :hmmm: I may need to research this a bit more.

"Awaken the Journal"? The theme of sleep is mentioned here again but...what the fuck?

Supposedly, the journal is sleeping, that's why the information in it can't be accessed. When it was converted to data, bugs appeared that further kept the information hidden. Sora had to get rid of these bugs to "awaken" the journal.

Sora's Heartless? This makes everything go tits up doesn't it? And erasing the Journal?

Remember when Sora became a heartless in KH1? That same heartless, (well not the exact same one, a data version) appears in the data journal and begins to wreak havoc for Sora. Sora beats his Heartless, erasing the fake journal I told you about.

Data Sora has no memory? Of what?

I am not sure at all what this means. Maybe Data Sora forgets everything that happened in the journal due to a data error or something? I need to look up some more.

And the significance of Castle Oblivion is...?

Not truly sure of what significance it held in Coded, but that young man in the black cloak was Roxas, I believe. He tells Sora something very important.

No idea at all :wacky:

What help do they need? Is this made clear in Birth by Sleep, or is this something unconfirmed?

They all need different help. Ventus lost his heart after a battle with Vanitas, Terra lost his body after MX opens his heart and takes over Terra's. Terra's remaining strength and power goes into his armor (Lingering Sentiment KH2 Final Mix +) and Terra in his armor beats MX Terra, or Xehanort, as we know him and sends him to Radiant Garden. Aqua, after trying to save Terra's body from the Realm Of Darkness, loses her keyblade and is trapped in aformentioned realm after managing to save Terra's body at the cost of his memories.

With the data, is it possible that Diz backed up the old journal when he went and erased Sora's memories? That would explain data Sora and the such. Diz did the same thing for Twilight town

Most convoluted piece of crap in the KH series >.>

The equivalent would be that R.A. Salvatore found a line in a book he wrote and didn't remember writing it. So, he decided to venture to the White House to seek out President Obama. Upon having done so, Obama would decree that a battalion be digitized and sent into the book to get a better understanding of why the line was there.

You know, I find text based summaries falls very far from what you get from actual games. Just summarizing over-all events leaves out so many intricate details that make the plot so rewarding to experience.

I just started on Re:Coded, and I can tell you right now there's so much more than those few vague lines above in the game >_>
