Ok, this is something I have been thinking of doing for quite some time now.
I will make a RP character, and go through what I’m doing, and thinking for each “tab”
First of all, what I mean by “Tab” is such things on the sheet that is to be, or are, filled in
such as name, age, race and those things.
I will be referring to everyone, as him, for simpler writing.
I will use the following sheet, where I will also explain each tab.
This format was the standard here at FinalFantasyForums.net whne it was written.
-------------------
First a brief explanation of each tab seen in my eyes.
ORPG/URPG/RPB
Required) what type of RPG this character is aimed at.
ORPG: Original RPG. This is where the RP’leader has created everything himself.
URPG: Unoriginal RPG. This is where the RP’creator is copying a game, or a movie, popular versions are RP’s based on the Final Fantasy games. The fact they are borrowed, and not created, means that they are Unoriginal
RPB: Role Playing Battles (AKA, duels). This is simple; mainly this is a 1 on 1 battle, where rules are harsher on character balancing.
-Name :( Required) what your character is called. A first, and last name is preferred, please refrain from using character names from games or videos. We already have enough of those.
-Title: (Optional) Does he have a title? Perhaps a prince or a rank in the army, again try to think as it sort of hangs together with the name. We also have too many XXX The slayer, or YYY the bloodthirsty.
-Alignment: On which ‘side’ is your character, this is about moral alignment, and a list will be displayed later.
-Race
Required) is your character human, or an elf? State so here, and if non human, explain shortly about the race. This is preferred that if it is a non human, even if one takes on an elf, don’t assume that everyone knows about it. Explain the basics.
-Gender
Required) Male, Female, or Other? If other, it should have some reason due to the race tab, or other.
-Age
Required) a mysterious character is ok. But an age is needed. If you don't have an exact age, make a “looks like XX years”. Note, even if the character doesn’t know, you as a creator should know.
-Appearance
Required) what does your character look like? Clothes, armor, eyes, hair, body physique. Etc. is detailed. Don’t be afraid if this ends up “long”.
This is about your BODY alone, clothes and armor comes later.
-Attire & armor: (Required) you can split these till 2 different tabs if you wish, but in general, they are the same.
This is basically what makes your character not be nude. If any armor, that should be explained detailed as well.
Picture your character in your mind (If you don’t have a picture) and write down what you see.
-Appearance in a Nutshell: (Optional) if you have a picture, here is the good place to use that. IF you don’t have a picture, just remove this tab from the bio.
-Personality: (Required) how your character is. Twisted? Good Guy? Be descriptive, and if possible, throw in a few examples. Examples can be, how does he react to insult, how is he around friends, if he likes them at all.
-First Impression
Required) When others see your character, what do they note first, and what thoughts may they get. How is your char to approach? What might happen if they stare? Simple things, that is relative to the FIRST IMPRESSION that OTHER characters gets from SEEING your char for the FIRST time.
-Weapon(s)
Required) Please limit this to logical levels. Limit your weaponry to what your character can actually carry. Like, no one uses 2 great swords, or 3 short swords. Multiple small arms, like throwing knives are ok. But be logical, limit your amount
Even if you have images, they should be described in text, as not everyone can see the images.
-Magic: (Required) do your character have magic. How does it work, how much energy drain does it take. How many times can your character a specific spell, until exhaustion, or fainting.
This will be VERY detailed later.
-Skills: (Required) does your character have other skills? Lock picking or a Painter? Whatever form of skills, as long as not magic, goes here.
-Strength: (Required) this is a section completely devoted to the physical strength of your character. Describe to us his/her brute strength, such as how much he/she can lift, how much damage they can do to a brick wall, for example, in a single punch.
It is also useful to state how much damage a punch would do to an opposing character if the opponent’s health was at 500 (with minimal defensive capabilities), and give your damage a numerical value. DO NOT automatically assume that every character's health is recorded by numerical values. This is simply a ratio explanation. Remember to keep this within the God-Modding rules.
-Speed: (Required) this is a section devoted to the speed of your character. In this section, state how quickly you can run at top speed, how quickly you can sidestep, and how fast your attacks are. Once again, keep this within the God-Modding rules of the forum.
-Endurance: (Required) this is a section devoted completely to the endurance of your character. State how much damage you would take from an attack (it is HIGHLY suggested that you DO NOT use numerical values for this). Also, state the stamina of your character, in terms of how long they can fight for, how long they can run, etc. before they have to take a short breather. Keep this within God-Modding rules of the forum.
-Reflexes: (Required) this is a section devoted to the reflexes of your character. State how quickly your character can react, such as how long it will take for them to realize they’re being attacked, if they can react to a bullet, etc. Keep this within God-Modding rules of the forum.
-Fighting Style: (Required) in this section, state how your character fights. State details on their methods such as if they resort to cowardly tactics, if they fight with honor, etc. Also, state the actual style of fighting, such as a specific martial arts style or street fighting, etc. and make sure to describe what the essential tactics for each of those styles are.
-Quick History
Required) a history shapes a character. Just like a history shaped you. Type your characters history here. And don’t be afraid if it isn't too long, or too short.
----------------------------------------------------
Now, here are a few things before we start.
The 2 main rules that never change regardless where you RP, are the following.
·God Modding also known as G-modding and G-mod
o-This is when you take control of a character that does not belong to you.
This can be all from; talking, moving, deflecting, evading, getting hit, etc.
Npc's are normally ok to control, unless other stated.
It is named after the act of controlling the “hand of God” as you decide everything.
·Power gaming, also known as Power playing
o-This is when you make your own character God like.
Where an opposing player, or enemies in general, can not damage you.
And where you often perform 'one-hit-kills'. Your strength is insanely high, or you can take on enough damage to level a mountain.
These 2 should be avoided at ALL costs. As most experienced players, might actually start avoiding you if you do it more then the occasional mistake.
-------
Here is an example.
This is a mock battle, between 2 sword fighters. Lets name them Tal and Ray.
They are both armed with broadswords, and plate mail armor.
This is the post of Ray.
“”Ray spun on his feet, using the momentum to swing towards the upper torso of Tal’s body””
Now, there are several ways to counter against this, I will show you the right, and wrong way of the same thing.
Tal’s post.
“”Tal parried the incoming sword with his own, sending it into the sandy ground. Then he swung his won sword vertically towards Ray’s head”
At first look, this don’t look too bad, but Tal is actually deciding what a weapon of Ray is doing, this is not allowed, and is G-modding
He can parry, yes, dodge, yes. But he can NOT decide what happens to any of Ray’s items.
As Ray might have a backup idea, or could use the created force to do something else.
----------------------------------------------------------
Now onto the character.
I will make a Norwegian Viking. One that focuses on strength and have a few skills of a magical nature.
I will use color coding to make things simpler.
All the text colored Yellow is comments that are the parts that explain.
All the text colored Blue Is the information made by the explanation, AKA: the character. This in turn is what will be left back as the final bio.
ORPG/URPG/RPB
First of all, I have to decide, should my character be only for a specific type of RP’ing? Or should I be able to use him in all kinds.
One will often choose all kinds, but one has to consider, that if one also chooses RPB’s. One has to expect to enter much more detail.
For now, I will use all.As I will try to show you detail and ideas.
-Name:
Ok, my character is a Viking, and should be named there after.
There are several ways to get a name; one can translate words from other languages. Or even check the meaning of baby names.
Note also, you should have a name relative to the location of the world that he comes from.
If he is from central areas, an Asian name might seem off.
One can also just use a name generator, and take one that you like the sound of.
But be aware, if you do that, it might have a meaning on other languages. This might turn into discussion, and faulty meanings.
As I am Norwegian, I will take use of the Norse mythology.
http://www.behindthename.com/
I use the search function, and search for the word “warrior” and came out with the name Gunnar. And I think from there. Often in the past, in the Viking ages, the sons where named after the fathers. In this case I will make his last name Gunnarson.
Which is made up from 2 words; Gunnar which is the name, and; son which means “son” as is; male child of-.
So, this translates of “Son of Gunnar”. This might sound weird, but it happened more then once in that time, as if ones father was a strong warrior, the name was brought to honor him.
So, my character is named Gunnar Gunnarson for now.
-Title: As I mentioned under name, that the name has things from the Viking age of Norway.
I will take that further, and make him a Viking. So then we have the issue of a title.
I can remove the tab if I don’t want it. But I chose to make a title that is “Viking-like”
There is 2 Vikings that are known in Norwegian history, well, there are more but I can only remember those. I’ll choose one of them for my example.
“Harald Haarfagre” which translates into “Harland Fair-haired”
And his eldest son
“Eirik Blodøks” which means “Eirik Blood axe”.
I’m not going to enter Norwegian history to explain, but one can guess.
So, in the spirit of this I will make up one that is referring to his weapon.
And Gunnar, my char, will use a broadsword, and he will have a sword based attack.
So, My char will be “Gunnar av Halvmånen” (Gunnar of the Crescent moon)) Cliché I know, but it is in spirit.
-Alignment: As he is a Viking, and they plundered and killed as they saw needed.
Many where also bloodthirsty, but there are even those that where nice.
The choices that one can make are very different.
But the common ones can be found here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alignment_%28role-playing_games%29
I will have a character that is in the Viking spirit, and go Chaotic Neutral
Information from the wiki page is as follows:
Chaotic Neutral is called the "Anarchist" or "Free Spirit" alignment. A character of this alignment is an individualist who follows his or her own heart, shirks rules and traditions. They typically act out of self-interest, but do not enjoy seeing others suffer. Many adventurers are of this alignment.
So, simple, he is one, that does whatever he feels like, when he feels like it.
-Race: My char is a basic human, so no further explanation is needed.
IF I where to make him half demon or something.
I would need to explain the demon race, with basic appearance and ways of living.
As well as what one might expect when meeting one.
But for this char, I will use a basic Human.
-Gender: Since Gunnar is a male name, and I will use “he” for his walkthrough, I will make him a Male
-Age: I want him to have battle experience, and skill, so I need to hive him age relative to this.
Even if I’m 22 in real life, the odds that he has much experience at the age of 22, is very little, so I’m making him 38 years old. This should be enough to give him some voyages, and raids.
-Appearance: So, body physique.
As my char is a broadsword wielding person, and a Viking at that. To be able to survive, he needs to be strong.
Also, He is to have battle experience and skill. So perhaps a few scars.
Add basic knowledge of hair and eyes, and such, and we have an idea of a look in ones mind.
Write that down. This is what I ended up with.-----------------
Gunnar is 215cm tall, which makes him an above average person.
He weighs 120kilos, but he is far from fat. He is bulking with muscles from a lifetime of fighting and working. He has a set of very broad shoulders, which stretch down to his steel hard, very large mulches.
His closed fist is at least 2 times the size of the average knight’s fist.
He has ling hair, loose it would hang to his bellybutton all around. He has this braided in a single braid at back, to keep it away. His beard is let grow loose, and is simply tied to each side, making 2 ‘ponytail’-like parts hang to each side of his face, they hang straight down.
He has 2 deep scars on his face, one stretches from his right mouth opening, all the way to his right ear.
The other goes through his left eyebrow, from the forehead, all the way down to his chin, having a clear scar through the eyelid.
His right eye is deep blue, and his left is dim grey, signaling that he is blind, or close to blind on that eye.
-----------------
Note that this should give you a fair explanation of his looks, some thing that can be on a way, typical Viking like.
-Attire & armor
it would be silly to give him no armor, also would it be fucked up to give him plate mail.
Also, as I’m making a Viking, I have to consider that.
If you where making a random person, that is simply a sword user, you might give him some nifty armor with magical abilities.
As I am making a Viking, I will have to consider what they used, and had available.
So, leather armor is about it, and cloth/fur for clothes.
So, using said information, I ended up with this.
-----------------
Gunnar wears a thick leather vest, padded with fur cloth, so that it makes no sound, is warm, and protective at the same time. It is dark brown in color.
Under this, he has a ragged shirt like piece of cloth; it is light brown in color.
His arms are bare, except for a set of fur bracers, with metal plating in them. This can be used to block if needed.
His pants are the same leather and fur combination as the vest, as is his boots.
Everything, except the short, is a dark brown, bark like in color, and somewhat rugged.
So he can easily hide in areas with trees, which have dark brown bark
-----------------
Note what I did here, not only did I give him clothes, and armor. But I explained that the bracers could block weapons, this is important to note, or other players might start a discussion because this was not mentioned.
And if it is not mentioned in the bio, it can not be done. Save given things, such as breathing and other logical things.
-Appearance in a Nutshell:I do not have a picture, so this tab will be erased on the final bio.
-Personality:So, based on what I have made, and his alignment, I will base a personality, that will govern EVERY conversation, and reply he ever have from the point of creation.
As Gunnar’s alignment is rather self-centered, he will not be considered a nice person, not will be one of deep evil either.
So, this is my result.-----------------
Gunnar is rather self-centered; he can be persuaded to do many things, if the reward is enough. He likes to fight, as it is in his blood.
His smarts are not on the large scale, he has an average intelligence, but one should not expect strategy in there.
He takes almost any form of name calling personal, and will reply with his oversized fist.
He loves to drink, and a lifetime on mead and ale, gives him a fairly large alcohol tolerance.
If one ends up making friends with him, he is somewhat different. One way to make him talk to you, without threats, is buying him a drink. It should be dimensioned to his body, which means a double for any normal person.
If one gets on his friend/comrade side, he will do what it takes to protect them. And hopefully fight alongside them.
This is the 2nd way to get on his good side, if money is not on your side; a fist fight is a great way to gain his trust. If you can hold your side of a fight, you are one that can be a valuable ally.
-----------------
Note what I mentioned, I mentioned his base personality, how to gain, and loose his trust.
The personality tab, should contain at lest these 3 things.
As RP’s are often team driven, how your character is about friends/allies might also be a nice addition.
-First Impression: So, picturing your character, based on the information above.
Instead of trying to make up something to not, think of it, and write down what YOU note.
So, in that way, I end up with this.
-----------------
What one might first note about Gunnar is his huge appearance, and bulky look.
One might assume that he is slow due to his large physique.
His over-sized broadsword hangs on his back, handle pointing over his right shoulder.
If one approaches him, he will react with the same actions as the one approaching. If one approaches with threats, one will receive a fist back.
If approaches in good will, one will be replied to, and perhaps a drink might be served.
-----------------
This tab is rarely ultra big.
This should mainly contain what others need if one is to mention your char in a post.
Example, say Char A, is talking to Char B about Gunnar.
If so, one can see here; A huge man with a ridiculous sized sword.
-Weapon(s): Depending if your weapon is magical or not, will determine the length of this tab.
Gunnar will have a magically enchanted sword, so this tab might end up with much detail.
What it SHOULD contain is at least its appearance.
If it is magical, the power(s) should be listed and approximate time for usage.
If it is enchanted, it needs energy channeled, it if can absorb spells, how strong is the strongest it can absorb, and what will it do.
Keep in mind that everything should be balanced. And also keep in mind the G-modding and Powergaming rules.
As I am proficient in Runes, I will take usage of this.
And in the case of the runes themselves, I will have to actually write them, so that they end up as an image for the rest of you.-----------------
Gunnar’s oversized broadsword, reaches a length of 150cm tall, and the blade is a rough foot on the thickest part. It is too heavy for normal people to wield, and even the stronger ones might have problems.
To Gunnar, it is the same relation as a trained man, and a normal broadsword, which is not too much.
The sword has a single runic work written across the blade. It is used for the “Halvmåne” attack.
|- Halvmåne (Crescent moon)
Along the blade, is written the runic word “Kraft” Which means “force”
These magical runes, makes Gunnar’s sword able to send out a wave of energy that can damage, even kill his opponent.
The wave is made during a slash, where the energy forms a crescent moon, and flies with great speed until it hits something. The damage varies with how much energy Gunnar puts into it. But at max, it can pulverize a 2ft stone wall. And completely obliterate a human being. He can do 5 of these slashes at max power, before a rest is needed.
-----------------
Note that I added information of what one can expect of the special attack, both in energy drain and damage.
-Magic:This is the tab that should perhaps be best explained. As if one does not explain it well enough, it might send the wrong message, or other s might misunderstand it.
As simple way, is to make a list, which explains everything.
This is a list that I made up for my mage character some time ago. Feel free to use it as you see fit.
---
-Name: This will be changed out with the name of the spell. PLEASE, don’t use Final Fantasy names, or from any other games please, as that lowers the rest of the bio.
|-Element: This will display the element it is primary associated with
|-Target: This explains what the target may be, be it a single person, or a tree. Or up to an “area of effect” (aka; AOE). For “Passive” skills, as they are activated (on self) they will remain active for a period.
|-Mana drain: This is the basic mana drain. It might be good to have a min – max system to choose from.
Say. “”Small, light, medium, heavy, insane””
If so, the spell cast, can be exampled by these.
|-Casting Procedure: the way the spell is cast, this contains the way it can be identified as well.
|-Explanation: This will explain what the spell does, and how it might affect things.
|-Counteraction: This will explain the best way to counter, or nullify the spell. If there is none, the word “none” will be displayed, and one will have to physically evade the spell, or the AOE
I will use his to example the classic Fire Ball.
- Fire Ball:
|-Element: Fire
|-Target: Anything
|-Mana drain: small.
|-Casting Procedure: The fire ball forms in the matter of a second, and will be discharged from his hand(s).
|-Explanation: He creates a ball of said element in his hand, that flies until it hits something, unleashing the elements attributes in an explosion on the target.
|-Counteraction: Fire absorption/Immunity, opposing element based attacks and simply avoiding it.
Note the simplicity, yet detailed nature of the spell.
All in all, there should be little problem understanding this.
For Gunnar, I will use a slight different version of it. As he won’t use Magic, he will use Rune words
as this bio is mainly for explanation, I will create a few skills.
-----
-Norse Protection:
|-Target: AOE
|-Energy drain: Moderate
|-Casting Procedure: Gunnar draws the Rune for protection on any surface, and places his hand on it.
|-Explanation: As Gunnar paces his hand on it, the Rune starts to glow, absorbing the energy fed into it. It uses this energy to form a barrier around him. It is 10 meters in diameter, and has the form of a perfect sphere.
It can resist up to strong leveled spells, and a great deal of physical punishment.
It has the strength as half a meter of rock.
|-Counteraction: Manage to stop the drawing of the rune, wipe it away before the energy is channeled into it. Or destroy the barrier.
-Nordic Rage:
|-Target: Self
|-Energy drain: Medium
|-Casting Procedure: Gunnar draws the rune word for “rage” on his forehead (total of 2 runes) in his forehead.
|-Explanation: The runes can be written with anything, but has best effect with his own blood.
This then absorbs the energy, and feeds it back in a blinding rage. His raw power rises, and he enters a berserker mode. His Endurance increases, as does his strength. But his intelligence faces to that of an angry bull.
|-Counteraction: Stop him from drawing the signs, “win” the battle. Outwit him.
-Odin’s spear:
|-Target: AOE
|-Energy drain: Insane
|-Casting Procedure: Gunnar sits down, and writes Odin’s name in the ground in front of him (4 runes).
|-Explanation: As the runes are written, he uses 30 seconds to channel his energy into it. Where the sky open, and Odin’s spear is sent towards his target. The spear hits the ground with a fierce explosion, and levels almost everything in a 100meter radius.
As this spell is cast, Gunnar is in no position to battle, and even a 5 year old with a dagger, can kill him.
|-Counteraction: Stop that rune word from being written, stop the channeling, and manage to block/evade the spear/explosion.
----------------------
Yes, note the strength of the last attack, but also note the serious drawback.
And the casting length.
Such spells, or attacks, should he described as being cast in one post, and let OTHERS react in one post, before you actually complete the chant/casting time.
This is to stop YOU from Powergaming.
Also keep the G-modding rule in mind, you are not allowed to make this instahit any other player.
-Skills: Here are NON magical skills and abilities.
As Gunnar is a veteran Viking, he will have a relevant skill choice.
Remember to mention that you can actually Use the weapon you have.
Guns need gunman-ship, swords needs swordsmanship. Etc.
Also mention WHY he can do said skills.
And if they are skills, but not magic, energy costs and drawbacks should be explained as well.
----
-Sea traveling/navigating: Gunnar has traveled the oceans countless times, and can navigate the sea by the sun or the stars. He can control a fairly large ship alone, but it is a hassle to take care of everything.
-Swordsmanship: Due to his lifetime of training, and his combat experience, he is a really good fighter, and is only matched by similar veterans.
-Cooking: Thought not gourmet, they taste rather good. Presuming he has raw materials, and a few herbs at his disposal.
-First aid: He has a basic knowledge of wounds, and damage that one can receive in combat. If he is couscous, he can take care of almost whatever by himself.
-Reading/writing: He can read and write the Runes fluently, along the common tongue.
-----------------------
Many things can be entered, but I think I will stop there.
As most other he can do is common sense.
Like counting, basic math (50 – 32 = 18) and such things.
-Strength: This is rather self explanatory.
But for the best effect, you should describe what he can carry while walking around, and what the absolute max he can lift is.
Also, if you plan to use the example that is explained in the char sheet explanation, where you explain how much damage your char can hit for, he sure that it is logical to the rest.
-----------------
Gunnar can lift up around 150kilos, and carry it around without any hassle.
If he whereto push himself to the limits, without any adrenaline or anything, he would easily exceed 300 kilos, standing still.
If he where to punch a person in the chest, without armor.
If one assumes the target have 500 in health, a direct hit would take 120 out of that, due to his insane raw force.
------------------
Yes, this is high, but as many wears armor, and how often does the target stand still?
Also note an important thing.
If using this example, do not explain it as attacking the head, or other vital areas. As that will be misgiving.
-Speed: This has to be around what is logical for the character.
If the character is light and agile, he might reach higher speeds. Thought he needs the muscle to get there.
In any case, try to remain logical to the character you are making.
--------------------------
One would assume that Gunnar is slow, but he is not.
He is rather agile compared to his size, and at max sprint, he can go up towards 37 Km/h, depending on terrain.
When running cross country, he runs around 30Km/h
--------------
Note that I have 2 speeds, one is for full sprint, and this normally lasts only for a minute, before a rest is needed.
The other is what one can hold for 15 min or more.
-Endurance: This too has to be relative to the character you have.
A pure mage is often more in intelligence, and magical energy, instead of physical endurance. Also, thinner characters, can take less damage, unless he is a mixed breed, or non human.
-----------------------------
As Gunnar has a thick layer of muscles, and is battle hardened.
Without any armor, he takes on most of the melee attacks from almost anyone. This is not the same for martial artist, or assassins, as they exploit anatomical weak points.
If he is hit with a war hammer to the chest, he would suffer a moderate damage, but would come out of it alive. Where a normal person would have his chest mangled.
His Stamina is incredible, as he is trained in fighting, and rushing from the ship. He can fight for up to an hour in varied strain before fatigue gets the final upper hand.
-------------------------------
Note that I did not just state what he could take on; I explained WHY he could do as he can. This is Important.
-Reflexes: This is an important tab, as in battle, this is what makes your character able to block and evade.
This should be relative to the speed, and skill. As if you are skilled, you dot think, you react as soon as you note it.
But this again is limited by your speed.
------------------------
Gunnar has many years of training, and some attacks and ill intentions towards him can be felt. And thus the reaction time is heightened slightly.
If he where to note that an archer let an arrow loose, the distance would matter, but if the arrow where sent of within a 50m radius, the chances of him dodging are low. But the chances of him parrying it are much higher, as this is something that has happened more then once, so in a way, he is prepared for it.
------------------------
Note, as he is strong, he is slower then the nimble thief.
This is a balance that must be kept.
As if he is as nimble and agile as s thief, and as strong as he is now, he would be severely overpowered.-Fighting Style: Self explanatory.
Just explain how he would fight, and if he has a style, explain that.
Insane detail is not needed, not is a mock battle, just try to explain.
----------------
Gunnar uses brute force mostly, but with his surprisingly agile body, he can combine various attacks, to push the enemy back.
As he is stronger then most, he can sometimes send them flying into a wall by using a power attack, where he puts his weight into the strike. If his misses, he might use the already created momentum to attack with his fists, or feet.
Be combines sword, and hand to hand rather well.
He does not lower himself to cowardly tactics, like poisons and sand in the eyes.---------------------------
This is rather self explanatory and not the worst if you don’t detail that perfectly. But an example is often preferred. Also the main deal here is that if he has an “honorable” way of fighting, or of he uses cowardly tricks.
This should be relative to the character you make. A thief or assassin might not care, as the point is to kill, or get away.
-Quick History:
As this is an example character, I will not make an extremely detailed history.
But it is simple “The history shapes us”
if you want a long, and good history, explain why things are like they are. Where did he get the weapon(s)?
How did he learn how to fight, where did he get the magic’s.
Did he have friends? A family or perhaps he was a loner all his life.
DO NOT use the history to explain something, which is not listed in the bio itself.
As tat will cause confusion.
A bio can be very short, like a single paragraph, or it can be long enough to rival the bible.
Any of them are acceptable, as long as it is interesting, and contains at least a basic set of info.
---------------------------------
Gunnar was named after his father, with the same name.
He was often with his father on raids when he was not training at home.
This is where he got his experience in battle, and his navigations skills where learned en route.
He lost his vision in his left eye in a raid, where a guard managed to get in a lucky strike, that guard’s skull is now an ornament in the village Square.
His magic abilities, and his sword, are something that most of his tribe goes through.
As they pray to the Norse gods, they often reply with some god given powers that seem right to each person. Thought the sword was enchanted by the village seer.
After a lifetime of pillaging and raiding, Gunnar felt for a different life, and left the village, in the hopes of a more interesting life wandering, something that had never been done by a Viking before.
----------------------
This is far from; the best history I have made, but it contains the necessary information.
And a feature that I find rather great to have, the REASON that your char is where he is, is he wandering for more adventures, is he an exiled person from his village.
In either case, it is great to have in.
So, here is the character itself, without the extra information in the tabs, just to have a last look at him.
The following information (bio) is thebluetext only. As well as the char sheet off course.
--------------------------------------------------
ORPG/URPG/RPB
-Name: Gunnar Gunnarson
-Title: Gunnar av Halvmånen (Gunnar of the Crescent moon))
-Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
-Race: Human.
-Gender: Male
-Age 38 years old
-Appearance:
His right eye is deep blue, and his left is dim gray, signaling that he is blind, or close to blind on that eye.
-Attire & armor
Gunnar wears a thick leather vest, padded with fur cloth, so that it makes no sound, is warm and protective at the same time.
-Personality:
-First Impression:
What one might first note about Gunnar is his huge appearance, and bulky look.
One might assume that he is slow due to his large physique.
His oversized broadsword hangs on his back, handle pointing over his right shoulder.
If one approaches him, he will react with the same actions as the one approaching. If one approaches with threats, one will receive a fist back.
If approaches in good will, one will be replied to, and perhaps a drink might be served.
-Weapon(s
-Magic
-Skills:
-Strength:
Gunnar can lift up around 150kilos, and carry it around without any hassle.
If he whereto push himself to the limits, without any adrenaline or anything, he would easily exceed 300 kilos, standing still.
If he where to punch a person in the chest, without armor.
If one assumes the target have 500 in health, a direct hit would take 120 out of that, due to his insane raw force.
-Speed
one would assume that Gunnar is slow, but he is not.
He is rather agile compared to his size, and at max sprint, he can go up towards 35 – 40 Km/h, depending on terrain.
When running cross country, he runs around 30 -35Km/h
-Endurance
as Gunnar has a thick layer of muscles, and is battle hardened.
-Reflexes:
Gunnar has many years of training, and some attacks and ill intentions towards him can be felt. And thus the reaction time is heightened slightly.
If he where to note that an archer let an arrow loose, the distance would matter, but if the arrow where sent of within a 50m radius, the chances of him dodging are low. But the chances of him parrying it are much higher, as this is something that has happened more then once, so in a way, he is prepared for it.
-Fighting Style:
Gunnar uses brute force mostly, but with his surprisingly agile body, he can combine various attacks, to push the enemy back.
As he is stronger then most, he can sometimes send them flying into a wall by using a power attack, where he puts his weight into the strike. If his misses, he might use the already created momentum to attack with his fists, or feet.
Be combines sword, and hand to hand rather well.
He does not lower himself to cowardly tactics, like poisons and sand in the eyes.
-Quick History:

My contact details should be close to where you got this guide if you need to contact me.
So, keep your imagination running. And may we meet in RP one day
~Red Fox~
I will make a RP character, and go through what I’m doing, and thinking for each “tab”
First of all, what I mean by “Tab” is such things on the sheet that is to be, or are, filled in
such as name, age, race and those things.
I will be referring to everyone, as him, for simpler writing.
I will use the following sheet, where I will also explain each tab.
This format was the standard here at FinalFantasyForums.net whne it was written.
-------------------
First a brief explanation of each tab seen in my eyes.
ORPG/URPG/RPB

-Race

-Gender

-Age

-Appearance

-Weapon(s)

His right eye is deep blue, and his left is dim gray, signaling that he is blind, or close to blind on that eye.
-Attire & armor
Gunnar wears a thick leather vest, padded with fur cloth, so that it makes no sound, is warm and protective at the same time.
-Personality:
-Weapon(s

-Magic
Outwit him.
