Changeling – The Lost
Taken from your home and transformed by The Faerie. You were kept as their pets, or slaves, but you never forgot where you came from. Eventually finding your way through the ‘Hedge’ you arrive at a home that is no longer yours. You are lost, and now you must find yourself.
This RP is based off the White Wolf – World of Darkness Roleplaying Book of the same title. You take on the role of a Changeling who has managed to escape the realm of Arcadia via The Hedge, back into the realm of mortals only to find that things have changed drastically.
The setting is modern day Earth. Imagine being in a situation where you were once a human, though through your time spent in Arcadia, everything about you has changed drastically. Nothing is familiar to you anymore, and you are striving to re-establish your identity and former way of life.
The Changelings
Changelings were once ordinary humans until they were kidnapped by The Faerie to be used as slaves, pets, or mere toys. They were replaced on Earth by what is called a ‘Fetch’; a doppelganger of sorts, created from scraps of Faerie magic. (This is drawn from the old mythology of mischievous fairies that kidnapped babies and replaced them with an imitation.)
As a Changeling, you develop certain abilities that are specific to your ‘Seeming’.

The Good Guys
Bridge-Burners – These Changelings set out to destroy any gateway leading into the ‘Hedge’ in order to prevent the Faerie from abducting more humans. It is both noble, yet dangerous ideal as Changelings need access to the ‘Glamour’ that the Hedge provides in order to remain anonymous to humans, but also because such acts are extremely likely to draw the attention of the Faerie.
Antagonists
The main antagonists are the True Fae, but other foes the Changelings may encounter include rival Changeling Factions, Hobgoblins or Fetches.

Hobgoblins – Creatures of all shapes and sizes which dwell in the Hedge. It is unknown as to whether these creatures are native to the Hedge, or if they originate from Earth or even Arcadia. Most are hostile, and are quick to attack anyone traversing the Hedge. However, on rare occasions it has been known for some Hobgoblins to befriend a Changeling.

But regardless of what form it takes; desert, swamp or jungle, it is a place both wild and dangerous. It tears at mind and body, as well as the soul and it often leaves a Changeling with its mind and identity completely shattered.
There are many paths leading through the Hedge; referred to as ‘Trods’. They lead from the various gateways to other locations. Many lead close to the mortal realm, which is visible when you are near. Some lead to Arcadia, although only the True Fae (or those they kidnap) may cross into Arcadia. Others lead deeper into the Hedge, to places known as ‘Hollows’. Hollows are places cultivated or claimed by Changelings or other creatures who dwell in the Hedge.
Arcadia – The realm of the True Fae. The gates to Arcadia had been sealed during the Sundering, a period of time in which people began to stop believing in the fae. However, the gates had been re-opened upon the Apollo 11 moon landing, which induced an influx of Glamour.
