I picked up this demo from the PSN this passed tuesday, but was never really called to play it. Having never heard anything about the game, I was a little more ready to try some of the more exciting releases (such as Vanquish) and let this one take the bench. Yesterday, having little else to do, I turned the demo on and invited my brother to come play with me. I hardly made it through the demo, before using the 'Unlock Full Game' option.

The gameplay and drawn graphic style screams Newgrounds, where the developer actually originates from. I would call the style a bit childish had I not spent ages on newgrounds when I was younger playing games like this, including Alien Hominid. That being said, it didn't need to grow on me in the slightest, because I already loved it's art work.

It plays like an old beat 'em up sidescroller, something in the form of Double Dragon or Battletoads. Ever running to the right, fighting continuous groups of enemies and the slightly more rare (mini)boss. The combo system is fun to play with, and once you level your magic far enough, it adds a great deal more variety to ones fighting.

Has anyone else tried this game? Here is the GameTrailers link for it.

I picked this up on the Xbox 360 where it originaly came out around a year ago and it's a great game, i might even pick it up for the PS3 one of these fine days as well. It's definetly one of the better PSN/XBLA titles out there.

The music is especially good, at least imo :D

It's that old!? Really? o.o

Maybe that is why there wasn't much buzz about it on the PSN untill after release... :hmmm:

Yep, by the time Playstation-only owners got it, those that owned an Xbox 360 were done and over with it.....1000 times over.

Still, great game :D
