Break Shoot Limit

I have been playing Blitzball on-and-off over the years. When I use Wakka's Aurochs Spirit, the sht doesn't exceed 99.

One time, I did the Aurochs Spirit with Wakka (Datto was the only other original member in the team but the sht would still reach 99). The combined shoot was just 40+ (I can't quite remember the exact amount, but it was less than the usual amount; and Wakka is NOT equipped with hi-risk). As the ball traveled towards the opposing goalie, the final shoot value was 18! I was confused because Wakka was equipped with golden arm and the final sht value at the goalie's location if the ball was shot from the center should be 60.
The Goalie was not able to catch the ball even if his catch stat was way beyond 18. When the ball hit the net and sticks there (the shoot value would decrease significantly because it stopped) the sht value changed to 78!

It seems that when the ball reached the goalie's location, it showed that the sht was 18, but the actual value was 118! It seems that the shot had "break shoot limit" and only the final two digits shows up. I tried it again and the same thing happened. The two shots had break shoot limit. I tried again for the third time feeling as if I discovered the cure to cancer but then the sht was just 99 this time. I can't get it to happen again. Maybe there was some sort of condition required for the shot to have break shoot limit. I can't find any info in the net. I'm sure I didn't imagine it. Does someone know about breaking the shoot limit? Please enlighten me.

I remember something like that happening to me too. I don't remember how many original members I had that time.

I can't get it to happen again as well. Maybe it was just a bug in the game. If it wasn't, everyone would already know about that by now.

It would be cool if there really was a break shoot limit. It would make Aurochs Spirit worth equipping when blitzers are at level 90+; where having a 80-90+ sht stat is not uncommon.

Only the two of us noticed it? Let it go man . . . it's just a bug. At least you got to see it twice.
