Bishounen - is a Japanese term literally meaning "beautiful youth." It describes an aesthetic widely shared in Asia—a young man whose beauty (and sexual appeal) transcends the boundary of sex. Recently, it has shown strongest manifestation in Japanese pop culture, but it has roots in ancient Japanese literature, the homosocial and homoerotic ideals of the medieval Chinese imperial court and intellectuals, and Indian aesthetic concepts carried over from Hinduism, imported with Buddhism to China.
Bishoujo - "beautiful young girl", is a Japanese term used to refer to young and pretty girls, usually below university age. Bishoujo is not listed as a word in the prominent Japanese dictionary Kōjien. An example of Bishōjo is Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew. A variant named biyōjo refers to a girl before the age of adolescence.
- Do not make general character clubs in this section. This section is not for 'clubs' dedicated to characters because then we'd have multiple clubs for the same character. This section is to discuss the 'hot-ness' of your favorite bishoujo or bishounen. If you want to create clubs like, "The Tifa boob watchers club" or "The Guardians of Vincent's Fine Leather Clad Ass" be my guest xD
- You can have in depth discussions about characters in any fandom. Which means you can discuss the hotness of t.v., final fantasy, anime, movie & book characters.
- Multiple polls are allowed, so you can make polls to compare the 'hotness' of characters in a fandom or even from different fandoms.
- You can even post things that talk about bishounen & bishoujo and you can start threads discussing your favorite anime/game/movie that have a plethora of bishie's.
