Who here has watched Arrested Development? I thought that show was probably the funniest I've seen. The chemistry and the jokes with the characters was just hilarious.

I think its one of those shows where you have to watch it from the very start, otherwis if you get into it in the middle of a season, you might not understand why the characters are the way they are or why the family involved are in the situation they're in.

I cant believe this show got cancelled. But it seems theres gonna be a movie coming out in 2009. Cant wait.

Great show. I was surprised when it got cancelled. If a show as good as Arrested Development can't stay on the air, I wonder how some of the garbage I see manages to last more than a single episode.

The show's full of hilarious characters and situations. I agree that watching from the very beginning makes for a more enjoyable experience.

And Maeby Funke is okay. I like her, but not as much as most of the characters. Her dad, Tobias, is awesome.

The terms 'Great show' and 'cancelled' generally go hand-in-hand when it's Fox that are involved.

This is without doubt the best comedy show I've ever seen, everything about it was funny and was really well written. It had some of my fave characters as well especially 'The World's first Analrapist' Tobias and GOB. Seeing Michael's reactions to the mayhem around him is good to see.

I'm rewatching the now actually (for the 3rd time in 6 months) and it's still not lost anything. Classic.
 
Was the show cancelled due to poor television ratings? Or maybe some of the cast was unwilling to return for another season?

Arrested Development was so popular for awhile there. One would think the ratings were still strong if they're looking to release a movie.
 
Poor TV ratings pretty much killed it, remember Fox like reality TV shows and past it cartoon series that bring in the masses rather than awesome critically acclaimed character-driven comedies. Looking at it though it apparently got on average 6 million in season 2 and 4 million in season 3. The below vid sorta gives you an idea at what the actors (or at least one of them) thought was to blame.


The movie is probably been built in a similar way to Firefly's sequel Serenity when it had a large cult following.

I mean we need more of this character on TV.

 
I've heard really great things about this show, and I might get the first season on DVD when I next get paid - looking forward to seeing it :)

And yeah the best shows often never last - but at least that means they bow out on a high and don't hit a slippery slope like so many series. Still annoying when they are cancelled early though.
