Paradox Entertainment is basically the master of creating the grand-strategy game. It's a spin-off version of the strategy genre but using gigantic maps such as the map of the world to create brilliant strategy gameplay.

Some games of theirs include Victoria: Empire Under the Sun, Hearts of Iron, and many others like Medieval: Total War.

Anyone heard of them? If so, which games did you like?

Hearts of Iron is an incredibly complex and near-impossible game to get into, IMO. It's tough shit. Their other games are very good but all of them are so complex that it's almost murder to play though it. I just never have been able to get the hang of those games. I lose interest far before I ever become any good.

Oh, I've got Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday and like above - very hard to actually get proper interest in it unless you have a lot of patience and can manage tons of things happening at once.

But its complicated gameplay is what I love about it so much, apart from Company of Heroes - is my favourite strategy game.

Haha, I bet it's complicated. I don't have that particular game but I have a couple of their other games, i.e. Victoria: Empire Under the Sun and Two Thrones (crappy game this one is  ) The former is practically impossible to win unless you're one of two countries: Great Britain or Prussia, which eventually forms Germany.

The thing I hate most about that game is the fact that there are glitches that prevent you from having 'inventions' or things that actually advance your gaming experience (example: 1912 and we're stuck with primitive reapers and crappy artillery, no dreadnoughts and battleships, although all the prerequisites are researched, nada)...
