I absolutely love the Kawasaki Ninja. I just wish I could ride one ;_; I did have a scooter once though, it was a bright blue Aprilia Habana. Pretty nippy for a sccot aswel!

I pretty much like all sportsbikes really Yamaha R1 & Suzuki GSX

I think they are just amazing to look at and all I want to do is draw them all day long. My dad was always into bikes so I think I caught the bug off him

I actually don't know much about motorcycles. However, I am planning to get a Honda 2006 Shadow:

I saw a used one that's still under warranty and still good as new. I've never ridden before, but I went to the DMV and picked up a study guide. I'm gonna take the free motorcycle training course, get my license, and start out with my little 250cc bike. When I learn more about bikes, I'll upgrade :D

Theres a free course? o_O I get the feeling you're not in the UK. Gawd we get gipped so much. Its my absolute DREAM to own one of these babies one day. They new ones are really pretty, but th eolder Ninjas have always made me drool

I love Kawasakis, but I am but a lowly college student. I'm gonna get some riding and knowledge behind me before I get one of those babies. That particular one looks like it would suit my random tastes... I don't really want a strict street bike (which is why me and Harley probably wouldn't get along).

Yep, I live in America. When I went to Germany, it cost [SIZE=-1]€4000 to take driver's training. Is it that expensive in the UK? (If so, how do people ever get their licenses?) How much do motorcycle training courses cost?

Well when I did my cbt, that cost me about 135quid (sorry for some reason, my kb doesnt have a pound sign)

That means you are road legal on any bike up to 125cc - which is what I had

After that you have two years to pass your test or you lose your licence for 2 years (I lost mine, suprise suprise) Not sure what the going rate for bike lessons is, but driving lessons range between about 18 - 22quid per hour, which can be very expensive in the long run, depending on how many lessons you need. I had about 5 before I gave up >_<

To get a pound sign you can do either one of two things: 1) Google pound and copy and paste the sign, or 2) If you're using Windows XP, go to the Start menu, click on "Run", type in charmap, and hit Enter. Find the pound symbol (and every other symbol the keyboard doesn't have... like ♫)

Back on topic (sort of)... that's not too bad of a rate. I wonder why the training was so flippin' expensive in Germany... I suppose it's simply because I'm not German :P

Are you not allowed to just get a permit and have a licensed friend teach you how to drive?

I think you can as long as they are 24 and have been driving for a couple of years, but you still have to have a certain amount of lessons & Im a pretty bad student lol I dread to think the damage I could cause >_<

I think getting a motorbike is something I will definately do I just need to learn how to drive first and get that out of the way. Bloody practicalities
