OK, heres the situation:
I really want to get Anima, but I can't since I didn't get all the treasures in the temples. I can't get the only one I missed, Macalania, because Dark Shiva is there. People recommended Magus Sisters for it. But you need Anima for Magus Sisters. I've started over again and am up to Macalania Temple again. Should I continue my new file or play my old one? If its play my old one, suggestions please?

Continue your old file and train your characters up. It will help in the long run, and will take less time. You'll need your stat to be in the 120-160 range. (mainly Strength, Defense, Agility and Accuracy) Just obtain the Celestial Weapons for your characters, and unlock species creations that correspond with the suggested stats to train up, and Dark Shiva will be beaten in no time. Tidus, Wakka and Rikku have the best Overdrives, so use them.

Oooo, Really, Rikku? Shes my weakest character *shudder*. Okay! Thanks! =]
Personally, I use every character for every battle, so they advance equally. ;D

I'd continue with the new file for the simple reason that I can't seem to train without the use of Anima or the Magus Sisters - training anywhere but the Omega Ruins is just far too tedious, for my liking and, until you can hold your own for a while, you'll need to use Anima or the Magus Sisters in order to become strong enough.

Dave you poof, you can still train without the aoens, when I first start training in there I run around near the save point, because I know Im gunna die alot and I can just save after every fight haha

Just do some serious training and you should be reet, little witch has high eva and speed though, took me afew attempts to beat her and her heavenly strike has instant deathstatus I think.....if youhave enough aeons to sacrifice for her overdrive you should be reet, if not.....start again, it might be worth just goping through it again if you dont have any of the celestial weapons, but if you have Wakkas, tidus's, Lulus or Khimaris, don't start again >_>

The Aeons are rather weak compared to characters; its harder the level them up, compared to you. The best way to level up before fighting the Dark Aeons would be to obtain weapons with he following abilities: Triple AP, Overdrive=>AP, Triple Overdrive. Set your overdrive fill to Comrade or Stoic, then fight the Cactaur King. Every time he uses an attack, your AP will rise considerably. You can hit the 1 million AP mark in 5 minutes.

Do you have the Celestial Weapons? They will help a lot. With that and training, you'll be hitting 99,999 in no time.

Ah the triple overdrive and overdrive to ap combo, this is an awsome combo for training and as Gabranth said you can gets heaps of levels fast. I advise throwing in an autophoenix on all characters and casting haste on the cactuar king so he gets more hits in faster.

About the haste though it depends on which version of the game your playing cause I think in the japanese version he has autohaste while in another version hes immune to it for some reason.

^ Why not? You can reenter them later on. However, if you own the PAL/International version, Macalania and Besaid Temples will have Dark Aeons guarding the path.

As for the Cactaur King, its susceptible to Haste in the PAL version. I'll assume its immune to Haste in the NTSC version.

Hm? If you have to get every treasure in every cloister, then I'm never gonna get Anima...:ohshit:

It isn't as big of a pain in the ass as it seems like at first. Plus, if you get Anima, then you will be able to get the Magus Sisters, the best Aeons in the game. Yes there is more than one. 3 Aeons in one summon. It's worth going to get the treasure in the cloister of trials to get Anima, so you can in turn get the Magus sisters.

The worst is when you miss the destruction sphere in Bevelle when you get Bahamut. If you miss that then you can never get Anima, meaning no Magus Sisters either.

I've done that before, was a pain in the japs eye.

You can't miss the destruction sphere in Bevelle - its required to leave the Cloister Of Trials. The Magus Sisters aren't the best Aeons in the game, Anima is; its can learn skills through the use of the Aeon's Soul, and unlike the Sisters, you have total control over your actions. Although Mindy's Passado is the strongest Overdrive in the game.

I've managed to miss it dude. Don't know how, and it was years ago but I did miss it.

I missed pretty much all of them, so went back later on and did them to get Anima, one was missing, and it definately wasn't any other temple because I'd checked through and done them all.

Even Zanarkand Ruins? Most people overlook that trial; it can only be obtained after you've accessed the airship.

start again but use guides to make sure u get all the items in every temple but i the zanakand temple u need to fight sin and go back to the temple and get the item
