I started a game a couple of years ago but couldn't get into the license board after playing X and its Sphere Grid. Anyways I want to play it all the way cause i loved the story up to where I quit is there anything I should do since it would take a long time to fill the grid.

I wouldn't worry about filling the grid. That'll take care of itself eventually. My last playthrough, I didn't do all of the marks, and probably could have filled out the grid if I wanted to, just from all of the extra LP I had.

I think also another reason I didn't like it was because I tried to do everything at once I think I'll just focus on each person having 1 class till the end.

Thanks

I'm very masochistic when it comes to XII. I would sit for hours and hours and hours killing the wolves in the first part of Estersand just to fill up the License Board. While I had a blast, a lot of people wouldn't want to do that at all. Luckily, you shouldn't have to. The board fills up pretty quickly on its own as long as you don't avoid enemies, and the only reason you'd want to fill up the board early is to get your MP gauge up and to get better at shield blocks/physical attacks/magic attacks.

I'd recommend choosing roles for your characters, then map out on a picture of the License Board and pick the exact route your character will take. That way, you get the best ones out early and can fill in the rest later.

if you're going to do this without looking at a license board map (which, while much easier, is not as fun), choose roles for your characters as soon as you get them. some will join your party with some licenses filled in already, which should give you an idea of what they might best be suited for at that point. remember that you can change their roles any time you want, but it will cost LP to make the switch, so for the early game just stick to the ones you've set. Also, magic/augments/accessories > equipment. only spend LP on equipment when you need to.

Yeah that's something I remember doing and realize now that I shouldn't do instead of focusing on those things I focused on techniks that aren't really needed and a lot of equipment that I couldn't even use yet.

Again thanks
