I read somewhere on TVTropes that FFVII is a deconstruction of JRPGs at the time and I guess with characters like Cloud who start like a typical hero who is actually an emotional wreck and the game taking place in a an unknown future, I guess I beginning to see it but I don't know for sure if it true or not since I am still playing the game. Is FF7 a deconstruction of JRPgs at the time?

Not really. Final Fantasy VII is as typical a JRPG as they come. Even at the time of its release. Typical JRPG with a typical JRPG gameplay and a typical JRPG storyline. It's not as if Squaresoft where moving any boundaries with FF7 or trying to challenge the way people think of JRPG's. As good as Final Fantasy 7 is, it's a pretty conservative affair.
