What kind of dickhead is this guy? Suing a hard working small business owner for $67 million... over a lost pair of pants I can't stress enough, what a dickhead. I hope everyone knows who that guy is so he can live a lonely existence. I hope the guy loses and gets counter sued.

Another thing is, this guy is a judge... this judge is involved in your justice system.

What a tool! I swear... this guy... he needs a punch in the head that will render him unconcious.... permanently. They're just friggin pants!!!

What do you think. Is this ridiculous or...totally fair.

People arent happy unless they are complaining about something or someone and getting some cash out of it. This judge should be ashamed of himself and sadly there is no one higher then him that can say what you are doing is pointless, waste of time and funds and is beyond childish!

I've read about this case because it happened only about 30 miles from me, and it made me sick to my stomach.

Apparently the family involved has been so demoralized by the incident that they want to move back to South Korea. The family has already offered a $12000 settlement too, which was declined. The judge overseeing the case (not the one suing) wants him barred from practicing for gross misuse of the legal system.

You know people these days, with quick lawsuit trigger buttons.
A mild offense turns into a big one because it gains you money.
No matter the risk, what are you going to lose anyway, you know?

I think this is absolutely wrong, and to think he sued just 'cause he couldn't wear his suit (no pun there). This is just unbelievable, even though it is quite common.
I'm surprised no one's fighting this kind of thing, but then again...

I got some of the details from a friend of mine.

The claim is now for $54 million.

This includes $500000 for legal fees even though he's representing himself.

He's also claiming the cost of renting a car to go to another dry cleaner once a week for the next 12 years. All amounts are multiplied times 3 because there are 3 people in that business. I assume there are the usual "emotional damage" costs in there as well.

I don't normally say stuff like this, but it seems like it would be a lot cheaper for that family to just hire an asassin. :) Kidding! Sort of.

Edit:
Do a Google search for "Roy Pearson" This man is famous now. He has a Wikipedia entry and everything. The stuff at the Washington Post website is pretty good because it's local coverage.

wow $54 million now. Thank god for that... i mean $67 million was just too much.. but atleast its reduced now to an affordable amount...

I hope Roy Pearson gets bashed... I dont normally wish this upon people, but i truly hope this guy does... I reckon taking millions of dollars from a family is almost as bad as rape and murder
