The next expansion to Final Fantasy XI’s ten-plus year saga is just around the corner. In Seekers of Adoulin, players will venture to the Sacred City of Adoulin on the Primordial Continent of Ulbuka and comb through its wilds for adventure in places such as the Foret de Hennetiel and the Yahse Hunting Grounds. There aren’t only new places, but new jobs with which to pioneer these new lands — Rune Fencer and Geomancer.
Rune Fencers, armed with their rune blades, manipulate the elements to strengthen their allies and debilitate their foes. On one hand they may strengthen their allies resistance to thunder-based magic, or create an opening by breaking an enemy’s resistance to fire-based abilities. A Geomancer uses their trusty luopans and Geocolure spells to create positions on the battlefield where allies will be buffed or enemies will be debilitated. Conversely, their Indicolure spells revolve around the Geomancer’s position itself. Three keywords: location, location, location!
Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin will release on March 26th in North America for Windows PC and Xbox 360. This will be the first expansion that will not support the PlayStation 2, as production was recently discontinued in Japan.
